Question about Computers & Internet

Restarts by itself!!!

I have a Gateway GT5628 with Vista Home Premium service pack 1, 3GB RAM, Intel 2.4GHz Quad CPU. I have Norton Anti-Virus, and Zone Alarm. I know there is no virus and a few months ago my computer would shut down and restart by itself. It is now happening more frequently. I have heard it may be the motherboard.

Virus on pc. installed norton internet security.

Never before have I heard of a VIRUS installing ANTI-VIRUS software. I have had intermittent mouse problems before though. Thought it was a virus, as I interchanged with like 4 other (used) mouses (mice?) and there was no change. Found a fifth used mouse-a genuine Microsoft mouse (I was running Vista 64bit Home Premium) and installed it and my mouse problem disappeared ("installing new device"). I couldn't figure it out for the longest time, (still can't), I'm just glad it cleared up.
I run AVG FREE antivirus software and Ad-Aware anti-spyware (also FREE). I run both of those at least once a week, in addition to defragmenting once a week, haven't had a problem since.

Norton is famous for this type of result, but very effective antivirus. Some softwares. have to access system files, which the antivirus interprets as an attempt made by an external programs attempts to use either a sys file or alter the registry, Norton reacts by blocking that process declaring " possible virus and blocks it.
To enable the software, add the *.exe file in the list of accepted/excluded, such that this nehavior is allowed by Norton.....................sodeep

Norton 360

i understand u r problem..

norton anti-virus is one of the most powerful anti-virus..
it takes lot of memory...
after installing norton u r system may be slow.. but it depends on u r system configaration.

if u r system already contains virus before installing norton .
then what you have to do is right click on my computer icon and start scaning with norton . then i maximum try to clean the virus .

if it does not did so then i will tell u another solution..
