Question about Printers & Copiers

1 Answer

The printer is moving - just extremly slow. We haven't used it in weeks because of this. I have unplugged and plugged in a few times. It does not say that the ink cartridges are empty. Psc 2100

It need cleaning thoroughly, clean its Toner/Cartridge and internal part of Printer viz. Roller, Carriage Rack, and if you wish go for its Service. Let me know in either case, before voting me.

I have a xerox printer phaser 8560. it does not seem to be printing and displays "Fault 37.016.43:23608. I have unplugged the printer as well as emailed xerox but no answer. Does anyone know what this...

I had one a few years ago. I think it indicates it is not hot enough to melt the wax (ink) caused by a failed heater. I replaced my heater with a halagon light bulb from the local big box store. Mine use to sort of flash white from inside the case until it warmed up then the flashing slowed down

Try to power off and unplug the printer, then force the carriage to move with your hand
When the carriage moves, place it in the extreme right position, then plug in and power on :D

Hi,

Try reset your printer by following this procedure to reset it,

1. Without turning the unit off, unplug the power cord from the back of the product.
2. Press and hold # and 6 keys.
3. While holding those keys plug the power cord back in.
4. Wait until the screen goes blank before you release those keys.
5. Follow on printer screen instructions. This should fix the problem.

"Deadly Embrace" problem you answered

Tim...maybe not toast yet.

The slow moving cartridge after "boot up" from a total shutdown is normal. The system forgot everything and has to re-learn stuff like "where is the end of the carriage" believe it or not.

The disappearing print means that the system thinks there is a printer there but there isn't. The printer, on the other hand, is not getting the print either. Kind of like sending a letter to the wrong address. You sent it but it never got there. You didn't get it back so you assumed that it was received but it wasn't.

Let's try this....
1. Check to make sure that the cable between the computer and the printer are mechanically sound. This means: unplug the cable then plug it back in on both ends. (I've seen tiny insects crawl in between one pin...that's where the term "bug" came from) As you do this you may should see Windows (using MS?) acknowledge the plug but not the unplug...(...found new hardware...found printer...)
2. Check the printer "properties". Does it show more than one printer....look for "(2)" in the list.
3. Try disassociating the printer with the LPT1 or PRN port and then reassociating.
4. lots of other stuff...let's try the basics first.

From your description both devices are working fine. Just the communications is hosed up.

Printing Slow

hi,

check the length of the usb cable. if it is very lengthy then there would be problems with the speed.

if not
> unplug the usb cable
> click "start-->control panel--> printers and faxes"
> select the printer icon and delete it
> restart the computer
> plug the usb cable
> wait for few minutes while the driver installations are complete automatically.
> once that is done, try to print

thanks and regards

Printer not printing

Try unplugging it or pulling the power brick out of the back, wait a few seconds, plug it back in, and then turn it on. It might have something stuck in its memory.
