I have a hitachi television L32HP04U A that won't come out of standby. When switched on it the LED will light blue and then blink blue and red.

Probably you should just disable the Standby feature, though it also depends on why it's in Standby. On some TVs, it's when it's been left on and idle for a certain period of time- basically the TV will turn itself off, or go into a lower powered state. It's possible it will not come out of it because the TV could be overheated, and needs time to go back to normal. Without know the specifics as to why the Standby happens I couldn't say, and it's also hard to say what the issue is with it coming out of it.

Go into the TV Menu and find Power Options. Set Power to Normal, or Quick Start (or whatever Hitachi calls it). If this is separate from the Standby Options, then disable the Standby option on its own.

LG 32LH2000 My TV was turned of last night in the usual way, the power turned off on the remote control, then the power supply switched off and the plug removed. This morning I attached the power...

most LG have a "vacation switch" on the bottom right hand side of the set very near that standby light.

it is placed poorly, where you can accidently click when grabbing the TV to move it or swivel it.

it is a toggle switch, a "master power" switch.

you may have bumped it to the off position. flip the switch, your standby light will come back on.

My Polytron TV is on standby mode. I used the remote but wont turned off

When you turn that TV "off" with the remote it go's into standby mode, that is the way they made it unfortunatly
To actualy make it not have any power going to it you will have to unplug it or plug it into a power strip and use the switch on the power strip.
They use the standby mode to allow the TV to turn on quickly without making you wait.

The tv i bought at a garage sale it was working when i got it. I took it home and pluged it in and now it wont come on, it sounds like it is on and the little green standby light is on but shows nothing...

un-plug the TV, wait at least 30 seconds, now turn it on again and close your ear to the back of the TV while turning it on, pay attention on hearing a hogh pitching sound coming from the back of the TV, the sound may be quick and go from a lower frequency to a higher frequency really quick if this sound is present then it means the switching power supply. if you don't hear any noises then the power supply is bad. It could also be a bad horizontal driver transistor, it depends on the model TV you got.

Panasonic switching to standby mode on its own

Is this a recognised symptom? yes the problem in power supply. it is due to switching oscillator& switcing output circuit probabaly capacitor & transistor. as set is very old so after power supply is ok check for horizontal output also. can it be fixed? yes it is common & not major problem
