Question about Acer Aspire L100 PC Desktop

Acer sound The speakers worked and then didn't. I fixed the problem by using Acer support. Recently I updated my computer software: Quicktime, Safari (which I don't use), and iTunes, and now my speakers don't work. I can't remember what I did to make them work the first time (or why they quit mid-stream). I have tried unplugging from front to back of hard drive with USB port. Also if you might have a clue - God love you - I have a wireless internet connection and have spent beaucoup hours on the phone with my IP. They don't have a clue why my connection shows up as "poor" all the time when it used to give a reading of "excellent". Yes I've changed some things, externally, but the Mac that I sit beside and work on constantly is doing fine on the same wireless network. BTW I am a Mac consumer, not PC. I KNOW NOTHING!

    It came after some vista update. I brought it to the technician and he fixed for a fee. Now it happened again. The icon says the speakers are working properly. But there is no sound

Well i haven't ever used vista but on win 95 win 98 and win xp you go to volume control and see if it has been muted on these windows you go to start then programs and accessories then entertainment and at last volume control. Check to see if anything has been muted or turn down.

I've read your "post," and I think that the best solution to the 'problem is to:
Get an "Update on the Drivers and Software.
"Most situations cannot be solve by 'pressing a couple of buttons'; sometimes
We have to go into the "Control Panel," or go to a "Website" to get updates for the computer,
"Drivers are needed for Hardware, eg, (Hard Drives, Printers, CD / DVD Players, Audio Sound, Speakers, Microphones, Mouse, Keyboards, and Webcams), to work correctly; also, some Software products."
"Upgrading the computer in any way, or added a 'new' software product?"
Causes the System Configurations, to change!
Many cases involving "Upgrades from an 'older' {Operating System, eg. XP or Vista},

to Windows 7, can cause a change in "Hardware Devices," not functioning properly;

or not to work at all !"

It appears the audio driver has not been installed.
Download the drivers from the Acer WEB site. Make sure youselect the model of your laptop and the XP or Vista version of the drivers youthat require and it matches the Windows version that is installed on your laptop.Use this link to get to the Acer support: -

you have to re install the sound card driver you can find this download at acer.com there you can find product support and driver downloads!

Try installing the Acer Monitor software and disabling the the desktop sound card under 'My Computer'. 'Properties','Hardware Devices'.

Make sure that all Apple software is unistalled from your computer. This includes Quicktime, Safari, and the update program. Renistall current version ITunes from apple website.

QuickTime Firefox Problems


Try opening Safari and seeing if it works in there. If so, its firefox. if not, its quicktime. Try deleting the preferences for quicktime. in the finder go to: *your user folder*>Preferences>com.apple.quicktimeplayer.plist, com.apple.quicktime.plugin.preferences.plist.
