Question about Acer Aspire L100 PC Desktop

1 Answer

Acer sound The speakers worked and then didn't. I fixed the problem by using Acer support. Recently I updated my computer software: Quicktime, Safari (which I don't use), and iTunes, and now my speakers don't work. I can't remember what I did to make them work the first time (or why they quit mid-stream). I have tried unplugging from front to back of hard drive with USB port. Also if you might have a clue - God love you - I have a wireless internet connection and have spent beaucoup hours on the phone with my IP. They don't have a clue why my connection shows up as "poor" all the time when it used to give a reading of "excellent". Yes I've changed some things, externally, but the Mac that I sit beside and work on constantly is doing fine on the same wireless network. BTW I am a Mac consumer, not PC. I KNOW NOTHING!

It came after some vista update. I brought it to the technician and he fixed for a fee. Now it happened again. The icon says the speakers are working properly. But there is no sound

Well i haven't ever used vista but on win 95 win 98 and win xp you go to volume control and see if it has been muted on these windows you go to start then programs and accessories then entertainment and at last volume control. Check to see if anything has been muted or turn down.

No sound

Here are the tips to fix no sound problem:

1. Double-click the sound icon in the lower-right corner of the desktop. This loads the audio options menu onto the screen. Make sure none of the audio options are set to "Mute." If they are, uncheck the options, and the sound returns.
.
2. Disconnect any headphones you have connected to the "Line-out" port on the Acer laptop. If headphones or anything else is connected to the line-out, the audio is not going to be produced by the computer's built-in speakers.

3. Connect your computer to a local power source. If the battery is running low, the laptop often stops producing audio as a method to extend the battery life.

4. Download updated drivers for the Acer computer. If the sound drivers are out of date, the audio is not going to project from the speakers properly. Navigate to the Acer website, choose your country of origin, then click "Service and Support." Click "Driver Download" in the left corner of the screen and click the kind of computer you have. Choose the exact make and model of your computer and all of the available drivers are displayed. Click the audio driver and it downloads to your computer. Double-click the downloaded file, then follow the prompts to install the updated driver. Restart the computer and the audio now plays correctly on the system.

Hello....
No Sound, No Volume Control, Mixer not Found, No Sound device installed…etc etc, This is a generic issue with all Windows OS updates....many of the users are facing this issue....this issue began after an auto update from MS changed many IRQs of Win OS, mainly the Sound and Audio Control system of Windows.
1 - R U facing NO Audio / No Sound issue...?
2 - Is ur Volume Control not responding ?
3 - Is ur Sound and Audio Device in Control Panel Grayed out ?
4 - Do u get a msg "No Active Mixer Devices Installed....when u try to open Volume Ctrl etc etc ?

If ur ans to any one of them is Yes...then u are being spammed by Microsoft....as ur Sound Control IRQ is being frozen by a recent update from Microsoft....

NOTE..THIS…IS…VERY..IMPORTANT...
No file update or any sound driver update can fix it, neither Microsoft is issuing any patch to fix it…or giving any help on this.
Full solution is available in my website (Support page)...it's quite simple process to fix it, and I am not charging any money, just trying to do some service and help everyone affected by this stupidity from Microsoft.

Hi,

I am assuming that the speakers are working fine. Kindly check the basic points as mentioned in the reference below :-

How to check speakers?

Play some other videos. If all videos are not working, speakers might be at fault. Unless,

Is that a .wmv or .wma file?

I am sure it has to be related with missing audio formats. Have you updated the Audio Codecs?

Have you tried running the videos in Real player or Quicktime?

Install the below mentioned Codec's :-

Download all codecs, Install and restart system.

Let me know the update.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using " Fixya ' and Have a Wonderful day!!

Cannot delete or remove awindow "Window - No Disk and message: exception Processing Message 75b6bf9c 4 75b6bf9c 75b6bf9c

This problem seems to be caused either by malware (virus or spyware etc), or by software following a Windows update or some other software installation or uninstallation (particularly HP, Norton or QuickTime software) trying to check for removable media that isn't there (e.g. disc in DVD drive or card in card reader), when it shouldn't be doing that check.
Please try these steps:
scan your computer with a virus checker and anti-spyware etc, clean any infections and reboot if that doesn't work, try changing your drive letter assignments (you can refer it from Microsoft Help instructions), if that doesn't work, try uninstalling your floppy drive or just always keep media in all your drives, though the next two steps are preferable if they work, then try making your software stop looking for drives: e.g. uninstalling and reinstalling an upgraded (or latest possible) version of QuickTime; similarly with your Norton and HP software if you have any, and clearing your most recently used documents or files lists. best regards
