Question about Canon Digital Cameras

5 Answers

I have a Cannon camera model Power Shot A80, AiAF #7021042214. My problem is that on the LCD monitor I get a verity of color swirling across the screen and when I down load to my computer it is the same thing. Once in a while it will clear up and I can then take good pictures. Help! Tom Van Mater

I put the camera back into the default mode. It still did the same thing. I inserted a new card and it cleared up. I just checked just know and the problem returned.

This issue is bad. Your digital imaging processor is shot. It acts as if there is a strong magnetic force nearby.

Do you use a brackelet with a magnetic clasp? A strong magnetic field could explain everything. The magnets used in bracelets are not ordinary magnets.

In the absence of this, the problem is similar but not from an outside force; a problem with the internals of your camera are or have been affected in the same way. This is an issue that can only be resolved at the factory. Under warranty or not under warranty, this can be resolved by Canon or by replacing the camera.

Sorry, but check to see if any strong magnets have been nearby, even stereo speakers have strong enough speakers to cause a problem.

You LCD monitor is going out. You will need to replace it or buy a new camera, or just use it as is.

I have a cannon powershot a80 and it keeps saying no memory card on my screen when i turn the power on.

Take a look inside your camera's CF card slot. I suspect that you may have a bent pin in there. If so, don't fret. Although professional repair would be more costly than the value of the camera, there is a chance that you can repair this yourself. Please see this link.

Cannon PowerShot A80. Pictures come out with red tint and what appears to be horizontal lines across complete image. However, record video without problem.

If camera shows previously taken pictures in playback mode and does notshow live view to take fresh pictures then it is ccd imager chipfailure. CCD imager will be replaced in your Canon A80 camera.
Canon offers free of cost ccd imager replacement, click Canon CCD Imager Advisory for details.
