Philips 42pf7320a37 Plasma TV. Menu appears without being requested remotely or manually. Must select Menu Remotely (or manually) to regain screen. Screen stays on for a few seconds or up to 20 minutes. If it is a chip resposible for this can I tie a pin hi (or lo) to resolve this. (I never used the menu since installation)

Problem was small (control ?) board that remote sensor connected to. Removed ribbon cable from board and problem resolved. Resoldered suspected cold solder joints on some resistors adjacent to IC, reconnected ribbon cable and all is well. Board is mounted on frame surrounds plasma screen, this frame had numerous broken plastic supports and was loose, perhaps moving tv at some point twisted frame put stress on board.

First shut off the tv then remove all the power wires connected to the tv externally.also remove the power wire connected to the electric outlet.
wait for a minute then try again without operating remote.and check it.

Check that this is not caused from a stuck button, or a defective remote recalling the menu.

If it is not the remote, then you will probably need to replace the control board or the button assembly.

That board connected to remote is the TV remote control decoder, on many TVs this is integrated with the control board, that is the one with the button switches.

Glad to know that you fixed it.

Remote Control volume UP could be sticking inside the remote itself. Remove batteries and manually turn TV on and see if sound works ok.

How do I find the password for my AOC TV?

You might need to do a hardware reset if somebody programmed a password into your TV. This will erase all settings and set it back to the factory defaults.

Try this:
1. Press and hold "Menu" and "Channel+" on the TV. (do not use the remote)
2. Using the other hand, press the Power button.
3. A small screen should appear in the top left part of the screen.
4. Using the remote, select "Memory Recall" and Enter.
5. Power off and reboot the TV and Computer.
6. Run channel auto-scan to regain the picture.

HI MY PHILIPS 25INCH TUBE T.V ONLY GOES FROM CHANNELS 2 TO 42

Either press menu on the Philips remote and go to autoprogram, or (if you have lost the remote), press volume - and channel - at the same time. When menu appears, use channel - to select autoprogram and volume - to select it.
