Question about Sony Grand WEGA KF50WE610 50" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
The color red is misssing - what needs to be done to fix the problem. How expensive is it? What should I do with the TV - it is only five years old?
You will need the optical block replaced. Approximately $1000 or so plus around $400 labor and taxes. Visit Sony's website to see if they are still honoring the extended warranty for the optical block issue. They know it as a green tint complaint. The menus will also be affected if you have the problem.
If the issue is no longer covered, try negotiating a shared cost repair.
