Question about Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty

Mic boost in SB Titanium Fatal1ty Pro Series?

I have the PCIe SB X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro Series, in winXP SP2.
The problem is that I can find anywhere how to do mic boost. I search over the net, seeing many reporting the same problem.

Mic boosting is important when playing games and you want your voice not to be lost inside the sounds of the game. By default the creative console launcer can give until 6 DB. But there should give more till 40dB in example. My default on-motherboard soundcard (realtek) had mic boost that was giving +20DB.

The PCIe SB X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro Series which costs much more money (and is professional) doesn't have such a feature?.. If not...

Is there any other free software to increase the mic boost?

Will there be any update that will increse the mic max amplification from +6DB to (why not) +40db?, or give at least the good old known +20db mic boost?

Is there any way to add mic-boost through registry of winXP or anything else?

In BF2, there is a button to "boost" the mic. You can click it, but when you save the settings and go back, it's unchecked again. The +20 db boost in the windows sounds setting for the voice/mic does the same thing. It seemed to start doing this after I reinstalled my Creative sound Audigy zs 2 drivers a month or so ago. I had to do this because my sound settings were all jacked up, echos and other special effects would not turn off.

What you need to do is make surre that you have your recording source set to "What You Hear" or your Microphone for you to get your audio for the games. The link below will cover this.

I can't configure or access my flexijack on Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro Series Sound Card

well the ports on the card could be shot and the card might have been installed by a person with a static charge built on thier hands without them knowing, which can cause the card's electronics to fry and be ALMOST completely disabled. try using a different mic or taking the card out and re-installing it.

My microphone headset volume is too low.

It should be able to suppor 20db boost. the way to enable it is just different. Try this: Right click you speaker icon in the lower right side of your desktop and select Recording devices and highlight your mic and click on the properties button on the lower part of the sound window and a new Mic Properties window will open. Select the levels tab and change the Mic boost from there.

hope this helps.
If it does, please vote. Thanks!
