Question about Car Audio & Video

Open Question

Nectec in dash DA-7169

Have a DA-7169 that powers up but no picture on the screen. Can't even find anyone in the area that will service it. New one is 299 but would like to have this one checked out to see if it can be fixed reasonably. Do you know of a good service center for this product. Don't mind shipping it out.
Thanks,
Dave

SOURCE: Wiring

The plain white wire (next to the purple one) is the hand brake connection or you can connect it direct to earth to allow the dvd player to work without having to apply the hand brake. Cheers Neil H

I have a dual brand car monitor stereo that won''t show dvd

hi there
well to start the e-brake will need to be applied to allow you to see the video if it was installed correctly.................to over ride this feature you need a toggle switch with 3 pins on it
on the toggle switch there should be two logos (power & ground) if you run a small wire from the red wire from the back of your in-dash system to the toggle switch (power) and do the same for the black wire (ground wire)..........the last pin on toggle switch you attach the e-brake wire from the back of your in-dash system to the toggle switch pin and turn it on video will play
if this doesn't work switch the e-brake and ground wire around on the toggle switch
hope this helped

Make sure the VGA cable that goes to the brain is fully seated at both the display and the brain box. It's what controls the video signals.

Broken pioneer avh-p5700dvd!!

It's more likely to be a surface mounted fuse, this unit has a lot of protection but you need to strip the unit down and continuity test the fuses but be careful there is a large flexible printed circuit board which is easy to damage if you're not careful

If this unit is new, take it back as it may have a broken drive gear. if it is not new it will need to be serviced by an authorized Kenwood servicer. Good Luck
