Sounds like the brushes on the motor are bad. Sorry, but this is not repairable. It could also be that the motor is not secured to it's support housing, but I would have to see it in person to make this determination. Electric leaf blowers are not made to be repaired, because it's usually cheaper to buy a new one. I know this is probably not what you wanted to hear. However.....since it is probably junked anyway, it's not going to hurt one bit to try and take it apart and tinker with it to see if there is an obvious problem. Just pay attention to how it comes apart, in case you want to put it back together. Hope this helps,

Electrical burning smell

I had one like this. The problem is probably something wrapped around the blower. You may have injested anything from string to a piece of plastic.

My blower is electric, and it also vacuums. I accidentally vacuumed up a plastic trash bag that was under a pile of leaves. It made a terrible sound, smelled hot, and won't come back on. I've removed...

Hi, It sounds to me that when the plastic caused the motor to overheat, that it actually took out the windings to the electric motor. Most motors have an internal overload to prevent this from happening, but it sounds like it has open windings or shorted to ground. If you or you're friend can get together, and if you have an electrical voltage meter, you can check the motor alone to see if it will run. If you can disconnect all moving mechanical parts and isolate just the motor with no load on it, you can use the cord that is attached to the unit and make sure you are getting 120 volts directly to the motor to see if it will run, or use a different cord and bypass the switch and anything that may be between power and the motor, wire the cord to the motor and see if it runs. If not, after applying 120 volts to it, the motor is gone and you will have to replace it. It sounds to me like you are mech. inclined and would be able to handle this with no problem.You might compare the price of a new motor to a new unit to decide if the cost is worth it, and have the motor shipped overnight. If the motor does run under no load and you have an amp probe, the data plate will tell you what the R.L A. should be and the F.L.amps also. I doubt if it will ever run again, and that's to bad the internal did not open and save this motor. But check the motor, you replaced the cord, just bypass the on/off switch and put power directly to motor to solve knowing the condition, and go from there. I hope this has helped you out.
Sincerely, Shastalaker7
PS If it does run after bypassing the switch, look at replacing the switch. You can still use it without one until you get one. Lets hope its that and not the motor. Good Luck

Toro Personal Pace Mower won't start w/ electric starter

There are a couple of things you can check;

First, check to make sure the bendix is engaging. It is the gear that meshes with the fly wheel.

If it is, then try and see how fast the motor is spinning. Don't look at the blade though. It could be a faulty starter motor.

Make sure to also check the battery voltage with a volt meter. It should read at 12.0 or higher.

My toro blower stopped working after only 10 minutes

Hi, normally when an electric motor smells of burning the damage is done, if it's new you need to get it fixed under warranty, trying to repair it yourself will void warranty

Toro Personal Pace self propel problem.

Your self-propel is probably belt driven. Belts can make an awfully lot of noise when unhappy. Possible it has rolled over and is running on the wrong side of the belt or is worn and just needs replaced. Hope this helps.,

Mower will not start. Makes a loud fast clicking noise when the key is turned.

Loud ticking usually indicates near dead battery, take it out and charge it. If it still ticks you may need to replace it as they are only good for a few years.
