In CD Easy Write Reader

Hi
I have some problem with DVD+RW accessing. A few years back I stored some files in DVD+RW. Since then, when I am trying to access it is giving the following message

QUOTE

Dear Customer,
You are currently trying to read a disc in the UDF Packetwriting format.
You are seeing this message instead of the contents of the disc because your system currently does not support the UDF format.

To make your System UDF compatible, we have developed a complimentary software tool, the InCD EasyWrite Reader.

To download the latest InCD EasyWrite Reader just visit our website at
http://www.nero.com

My OS is Windows XP SP3, I have installed In CD, I have no problem reading the contents in CD-RW. I have also installed "Easy Write Reader" from Nero, inspite of this I am unable to read the contents on DVD+RW, when I click the file, instead of the contents, the above message appears.
I have contacted techsupport@nero.com, to solve this problem. They have provided me some suggestions, which doesn't solve my problem. Mentioned here under are the suggestions from Nero.

QOUTE:

Dear Mr. Basheer,

thank you for your e-mail.

You must install our EasyWrite Reader driver to be able to read CD-RW, DVD-RW, or DVD+RW media which is formatted in Mount Rainer format (MRW).

Download this reader from
ftp://ftp6.nero.com/easywritereader.exe

and install on those computer systems which are able to read MRW formatted media.

Should you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us again.

Yours sincerely,

Ulla Kirsten

My dvd-rw file is corrupt at a certain point how do i fix it

Sometimes these disks reach the end of their life after a couple of uses and can no longer erase/write. CDs and DVDs have a shelf life of about 10 years, but sometimes data can be lost in as little as 2 years. CDs and DVDs are best for storing music and video, where loss of data bits is not noticable. Back up critical data files in several media types (Hard disk, CD, DVD, Flash drive) to prevent loss.

Trying to burn a playlist from my itunes account and get 4261 error message, what does this mean?

Hi there,

The ITunes error 4261 appears when attempting to burn CD's. The error code can appear for several reasons, including a faulty CD-RW, used CD's or a slow speed burner.

The error may also occur when you are trying to burn a file that has Dynamic Random Memory from ITunes & you have exceeded your permitted attempts.

The error can also happen if you are accessing the files from a different PC than where it was registered.

Try slowing your burn speed to 16x or even 12x or use Nero Express or Windows Media Player to burn your MP3 files. Other techniques for resolving this error include using new CD's & activating DLA in the Drive Properties.

I truly hope that one of these solutions clearly resolves your problem. Good luck.

Kindest regards,

Ste

Computer does not recognize it as a CD RW drive

When you try to write data to an optical disc, you may experience any of the following symptoms:

* You receive various disc write error messages.
* You experience issues with the drive and the built-in recording feature of Windows XP.
* You experience issues with third-party programs that you use to write data to the disc.
* You cannot read the disc in all versions of Windows.
* You cannot read the disc, or some files on the disk, by using an MP3 player.
* When you add files or folders to a disc that already contains data, some files are lost.
* Recording files to the disc is inconsistent.
* The disc recording operation is consistently unsuccessful.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Troubleshooting specific errors
If you experience one of the following errors, follow the appropriate steps to resolve the error.

* There is no disc in the drive. Please insert a writable CD into drive.
This error can occur if the CD-R drive or CD-RW drive is not recognized as a recordable device. This error can also occur if the device driver has been corrupted. To resolve this issue, see Method 3 in the "General troubleshooting" section and Method 1 in the "Advanced troubleshooting" section.

* Drive not accessible, incorrect function
This error message typically occurs when you try to write to a CD-R or a CD-RW, and the Windows XP built-in disc recording feature does not recognize the CD drive as a recordable drive. This error message may also occur if specific third-party programs are installed. For more information about how to troubleshoot this error,

when you access the CD-ROM drive, the DVD-ROM drive, or the CD-RW drive
* Error Deleting File or Folder.
Cannot delete file name. Files on this CD-ROM drive are read-only. You cannot copy or move files over to this CD-ROM drive.

This error message can occur because individual files cannot be deleted from the CD-RW. You cannot use the CD disc recording feature of Windows XP for random-access storage while you are writing to disc.

To set the service to Automatic, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc /s, and then click OK.
2. Double-click IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service.
3. Under Service Status, click Start.
4. Try to write data to a CD.

Can't read dvd ram disk

Well not all DVD Rom's are compatible for DVD Ram. Other problem would be the formatting. Windows XP Home and Professional can only write directly to FAT32-formatted DVD-RAM discs. For UDF-formatted discs, which are considered faster, compatible device drivers or software such as InCD or DLA are required. Windows Vista can natively access and write to both FAT32 and UDF-formatted DVD-RAM discs, however Windows Vista uses its own version of the UDF format giving compatibility problems. Vista also has issues with XP formatted FAT32 discs as Vista uses the CPRM features. Even though it is possible to use any file system one likes, only very few perform well on DVD-RAM. This is because some file systems frequently over-write data on the disc and the table of contents is contained at the start of the disc.
