After upgrading the firmware on my CNIG914 router, I can't access it at 192.168.1.1;even the status led now remains off. Is there anyway to reset to the original firmware or any other way to access the router?
Unfortunately, a failed firmware upgrade is the one thing you can't recover from. The only reset available on these devices is just going back to the original factory configuration. If the base software itself has been corrupted, then I'm afraid there is no way to recover. If the device is still under warranty, contact the vendor to arrange a replacement, or bring it back to the store from which you purchased it.

My PC broadband connection gives limited/no connectivity errors (windows XP SP3). The PC wireless adapter (Tenda W541U v2.0 USB modem) shows with zero IP address on the router (Speedtouch 585 v5). DHCP is enabled on the router. All elements have been rebooted. My laptop connects wirelessly without issues.

The CNet CNIG-914 was working well with the cable modem connected to the WAN port and my three computers connected through an Asante ethernet hub to one of the LAN ports. I disconnected the LAN cable and suddenly the router won't recognize the LAN connection any more (light stays off, no activity). I've checked the cable -no problems there. I've connected the router to the modem through the hub on the WAN side -no problem. I've reset the router -no joy. Any suggestions?

I have changed the router to a CNet CNIG914 and this is configured for a fixed IP (the 2nd choise in the setup) but the broadband provider works with Dynamic IP. How do a change this setup? I have no manuals.
