Thanks for using FixYa. Error 17H means rack rotation failure. While replacing toners, one of them might not be sitting right and due to this cause, the cartridge is stalling the rotation of the rack. You need to remove all of the toners installed by selecting the properties of the printer. After that select "install toner" and reinstall all of them.Check for any physical damage on anything around the toner rack or a small piece of paper jammed in the right hand side of the toner rack.
Please do accept the solution and revert for further assistance.
open door, remove waste toner box then you have to find a small switch in left side and push it wit screwdriver or something, then you can rotate the toner rack manually. then install the waste toner box again and power up printer.
had printer for approximately 2 years. Used daily in office setting. today the printer tried to print, then just stopped and it said fatal error 17H in the window. We cleared paper jam and rebooted, gives the same error message. Anything we can do?
Remove each of your cartridges one at a time and see if you can spin the toner rollers by pushing on the little white plastic gears with your finger. They will be tight but you should be able to spin the roller by moving the little gears around.
My printer started giving the Fatal Error Code 17H and I did all the removal of the four color cartridges and re-seating each of them to no avail. After removing each cartridge and checking to see if I could rotate the toner roller I found that the yellow cartridge was extremely tight. I took the cartridge outside and used a can of compressed air to blow all the toner off the roller and tapped the cartridge on all corners and shook it back and forth several time. Finally I was able to get the toner roller so that it would rotate when pushing the little white gears like the other three cartridges.
After replacing the cartridge in the printer it worked with no more error codes. Hopefully this will fix the problem until I can order a new yellow cartridge.
