Installing thermostat for kenmore side by side

The problem I am having is the same as "kenmore side by side, model # 57562792 it started about a month ago that we noticed our freezer thawed out and that the cooler side wasn't holding the temperature. We can shut it off and turn the dial back on , then we hear it come on. But now we have to do this everyday. Is it the thermastat? and how do we replace this?" Your answer was yes thermostat, buy one. I have ordered a thermostat assembly, part #2198202. I need to know how to replace this thermostat.
Thanks a million!!!

Cannot locate water filter for my kenmore Refridgerator 106-57562792

Yes the filter is only available on some models. This is noted in the manual next to the part description: Part 14 Water Filter (on some models).

The entire set of parts lists (including a replacement grill plate, if you want it) is available from Sears Parts Direct: http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Kenmore-Parts/Refrigerator-Parts/Model-10657562792/0582/0165000?pathTaken=&prst=0&shdMod=10657562792 . The grill plate is part 13 on the cabinet diagram.

I hope this helps.

Ice maker (Kenmore model #57562792). When dispensing water into the tray the water will freeze in the shoot. Resently the water oveflowed out of the shoot freezing the water. It is like the sensor value...

Hi and thanks for choosing FixYa I am Kelly.

Ot took me a bit to sort out your model number started with 106 for a complete model number of
106.57562792.

You already more or less stated what the remedy is. in this starement:
It is like the sensor value does not know when to stop sending water to the tray

What happens during the life of refrigerator is the inlet water valve fails. This caused the ice in the water fill tube because it was a very slow drip so the wter froze in the tube. It also causes the ice tray to overfill because it is allowing water to bypass when it is supposed to be shut off. (Common problem after unit is 4 - 7 years old)

Your inlet water valve needs to be replaced PN: 2182106
Net search: 2182106
http://www.google.com/search?q=2182106&rls=com.microsoft:en-ph&oe=UTF-8&startIndex=&startPage=1&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbo=u&tbm=shop&source=og&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wf

Sears parts direct lists it under your model number for $70.92. As you can see from the net search... you can get them MUCH cheaper.
When you change this inlet water valve... save yourself all the headaches... Change ONE line at a time and One connector at a time. Hook up the main water supply LAST.

This will fix your current problem.
Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

repl the defrost timer and and defrost thermostat the defrost thermost sists right on top of evaporator coils and if it looks like it explode then that is your problem but it looks ok then repl both timer and defrost thermostat , you didn't give enough info on model but if you repl both parts that will solve the defrost problem if you take your model# and buy the parts you will fix this under 200.00

Side by side kenmore

Have same problem on a 2 month old Kenmore 106.5794*700. side by side.
I can see ice / frost build up behind the lower baffle on fridge side. Does not seem to be any airflow from freezer side to fridge side. Freezer is extremely cold, it is about -23F. I read that 0F would be normal. Fridge side is warmish, running at about about +50F when it should be about +32 to +38F.

BTW: Ice pops started sticking to my tongue, thats why I noticed the unit wasn't working correctly.

I'm not 100% sure but I think the compressor is also running all the time as well. Either that or a Fan or something running. That kinda points to a stuck thermostat or some thing causing it to stick. I suspect that if the Freezer thermostat which is located in the Fridge compartment just may to rely on air flow from the freezer side via a duct, if this duct is blocked, the Freezer Thermostat misread the freezer compartment temperature and will always activate the compressor. Wish I had more details on exactly how the freezer thermostat works.

So after reading various forums on this it looks like a defrost issue causing the ice or frost build up or maybe just a faulty thermostat. Maybe there is a common circuit control board for these two functions?

As this is still in Warrranty I have a Sears Tech coming on Monday 14th Jan 08. I'll be interested to see what he does.

Replacing door chute on kenmore refrigerator 57562792

first of all unplug the refrig.

look at the bottom of the disp cover and you will find 2 slots for you to slide in a flat tip screw driver. carefully pry the bottom of the cover loose 1 side at a time.once this is loose, either remove the 2 screws that hold the switch housing in place or release the clips ( depends exactly onwhich model you as to wether there are clips or screws) once this is free remove the plastic funnel, by this point you should see how the chute door removes.

a few notes the disp cover can be hard to remove but it will come loose also reinstalling just hit it firmly over each clip witht he palm of your hand.

good luck..
