Question about Canon PowerShot S400 / IXUS 400 Digital Camera
When I turn my camera on, the lcd screen just shows a dark image of horizontal streaking. I can photograph it and my image is much brighter with a lot of red but still no actual image is captured. Sometimes I can push display on and off and the problem is fixed, but not often. I had purchased a new battery because I thought this might be part of the problem - it has not made a difference. This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following two links for more info:
