My dvd burner doesn't burn dvds

i have some problem too cannot burn DVD

my dvd burn ok but it freezes

well i have some a lg dvd burner, and it used to work pretty decenty but lately i im been forced to keep useless information in my pc, 'cause my dvdrw seems to be werck... i tracked the problem down and found out that it was something called DMA that is turn off and not letin' me work as normal, i knew something like that was the problem since im still able to play dvd as normal...

The format option is missing from my computer. I have tried to burn DVD's using Nero 6 and Nero 8 but this has failed, I don't know how to format the DVD in any other way, or if this is really necessary with Nero.

My HP Pavilion a430n combo DVD writer / CD-writer is not burning DVD's I tried to burn with 4 different DVD burn programs.

When I first installed the burner it worked fine. It burnt everything CD's,DVD's. Now ti only burns CD's, I looked in my device manager and it only shows that it is an CD-R / CD-RW burner. Do I need to install a new driver for this, or can I just unplug it from the mother board and plug it back in .

Same harddrives as before yet this new SATA DVD-R will not burn DVD's.

Sony 720UL DVD burning fails. I have Windows XP SP2 and have updated the firmware on the Sony drive. I've connected the drive another XP machine and also a PC running Vista and got the same results. I then connected a Mad Dog DVD Burner and used the same DVD+R that failed in the Sony drive and the burn was Successful. What's up with that? I was originally using Nero-6 then loaded Roxio-8 and the Sony drive still fails to write DVDs.
Any Suggestions?

i can't burn dvd

I have an LG dvd burner, and it also stopped burning dvd's.

It can read CD's.
It can burn CD's.
It can read DVD's
But now it just can't burn DVD's

I completely reinstalled windows XP, after a complete erase of my hd. Completely reinstalled disk burning software, the Nero disc that came with the burner. I even tried about 3 other burning programs. Still nothing. When I take out the DVD I just tried to burn and put it back in to see what the computer can read of it, explorer stops responding and I have to do a control+alt+delete just to end the program just so I can remove the disk.

I've had the burner for about 2 years. However, I have burned many, many DVD's of a lot of high school football games I've video taped and other video work I've done. Still, I'd think a burner should last more than 2 years...?

I'm giving up, and just buying a different one, probably a different brand. LG website has nothing to be found as far as troubleshooting this type of problem. So my best possible guess is the burner is just dying. Just a guess as I'm not familiar with the mechanics involved, but I'm more than confident in saying it's a hardware problem.

I see it's been over a year since the original post, I guess I'm just writing this for the sake of other internet surfers who found this post as I did with the same kinds of problem.

liteon sohw 1633s stopped burning CDs and DVDs. It plays both types normal however, when I go to burn a disc it makes some sort of grinding sound. Is it time to replace?

dvd drive does all except burn videos. i can write video files but can't burn video.

My dvd burner is burning cds normaly but i am having a problem with burning the dvds. It says that it has a problem writting to a disk.
I tried several new blank discs and I get the same problem.

All drives were updated!

Anything that would lead to solve this problem will be appreciated.

I have an Asus dvd which doesn't burn. Every time I go through the Nero burning procedure it asks me to put a proper CD-R.
