I try following instuctions in booklet but no success

    I got one for Christmas and made my first trip over the weekend with it. I found that on the way up the M11 I got no signal. I tried moving the aerial around and got a signal on the A14.

    On the way back I was dissapointed that it only managed to tune in once I got to the North Circular. I had moved the aerial in the mean time.

    tom tom scans for signal but never finds one. Have tried moving aerial around, even placed it on my bed room window but still says just scanning for signal but never finds one. Is the possible a fault in the tom tom software on my tom tom 910?? can i re load the tom tom software, because my aerial used to work in til in stalled new maps!!!

Is this the RDS-TMC?

Try resetting the navigator (using a paperclip in the reset hole in the bottom of the device). Then plug it in again and see if anything's changed. Remember that the antenna must be connected to power for it to work.

Are you seeing the vertical display on the right-hand side of the screen?

If the thing is constantly searching but never showing traffic updates, it's possible that you don't live in an area that has active RDS-TMC broadcasts.

My computer does not reconize unit


To troubleshoot a connectivity issue please try the following:

  1. Ensure the cable is secure on the device and computer. Disconnect and reconnect the device.
  2. If still not connecting and the cable is secure press the rest on the back of the device while connected to the computer.
  3. If a reset does not work then disconnect the device from the computer, wait at least 10 seconds and try another USB port on the computer.
  4. If another USB port does not resolve the issue disconnect the device, restart your computer, then connect the device.
  5. If all the above fails you can Reinstall the Device Driver. Navigate to the Device Manager on your computer. Please note this will vary based on the operating system you are using. Once at the Device Manager screen locate Universal Serial Bus Controllers. Click the arrow/triangle to the left of the Universal Serial Bus Controllers to expand the drop down list. If the device driver is the issue one of the items listed will say Unknown Device. Right click on Unknown Device and select uninstall. Once the uninstall has been completed, restart your computer with the device still connected.

If the device is not recognized after trying all these steps you will need to contact Technical Support for additional troubleshooting.

Intelliroute 520 wont connect to my pc

To troubleshoot a connectivity issue please try the following:

plug the SatNav into the computer go onto Navmans website for the latest version of the update manager or similar name, then follow the instuctions.

I have nuvi 1490TV and when i can't connect with the ecoroute HD on my Seat Ibiza. The year of manufacturing is 1997, cam this be a problem?


I had trouble connecting to my 1490 as well. When I tried to connect, I kept getting a message about being unable to find the unit.
This solved the problem for me. Go into the Bluetooth settings on your GPS unit. Click "Restore" on the GPS Bluetooth settings.
After restoring the GPS Bluetooth settings, I was able to connect to the Ecoroute HD on the next attempt.

My garmin nuvi 760 suddenly lost it's voice and I have gone into tools and checked the voice and it is at 100% and the fm transmitter is off and the mute is off. Now what?

You will need to ensure that you are running the latest software which can be done by installing a program called WebUpdater. WebUpdater can be installed via the link below:

Once updated please allow the unit to reboot which will ensure the software successfully installs.

If after following all the above the final steps would be to perform a master reset:

Note: A master reset will erase all waypoints or favorites and will restore your unit to the default factory settings.

  1. Start with the unit OFF and unplugged from power
  2. Touch and hold the lower right corner of the screen with an index finger or the eraser end of a pencil
  3. Continue touching and holding the lower right hand corner of the screen then power the unit ON
  4. Release the power button when the device powers on. After 5-10 seconds you will see a new message: Do you really want to erase all user data?
  5. Remove your finger from the touchscreen when this message displays
  6. Touch Yes

The device will automatically reset. Please follow the on screen prompts on the nuvi and when completed place your device in an area with a clear view of the sky until it acquires satellites.

When I insert the DVD is does not give me any instructions to follow. I am connected to the internet. I am never prompted to give my unique serial number or anything else. I have downloaded something off...


I think the issue is your pc is not detecting a new disk in the drive. hence, it is not trying to run the Auto run for the DVD.

Just try right clicking on the dvd drive from explorer and see any option that will indicate 'Autorun' and click on it.

If not just check what it shows on the root directory of the DVD and see if there is any file that reads Autorun or start or something similar, then double click on it to get started yourself.

The reset button on your nuvi will switch the device off. The reset button can be used to switch your device off if the screen is frozen and you are unable to switch the device off by the power button.

To reset a nuvi 2xx:
  1. Look at the bottom of the device
  2. Locate the small circle with a dot inside
  3. Press the circle to reset the device.
To reset a nuvi 3xx or 6xx:
  1. Lift the antenna
  2. Locate a button with the word Reset inside
  3. Press the button to reset the device.
The device will now switch off.
