Unit wont play cd loads them and says nodisk tried reset no good..goes thru all cd positions and says nodisk

No disc error can be a DIY like the following steps.

Assuming that the disc is good.

1.Cleaning the lens. - Sometimes because of dust the lens can't read any disc.

Try clean the lens by soft cotton buds. Be careful while doing this.

2.Replacing the ribbon - Check the ribbon connected to the lens from the main board for scratch, damage. Once it has an open line then of course the lens can't read the disc. Also try to erase the contact by pencil eraser.

If you've done the steps above and the symptoms still there then the next step requires you a little knowledge in soldering technique and reading the ohmmeter.

3.Checked the motor - Check the motor that spin the disc with an ohmmeter. You can test it using the ohmmeter (x1) even it is connected on the lens assembly.

Good motor - reading should be fairly high and it will spin.

Bad motor - reading will drop to low resistance and will not spin.

Hint : 50% of my repaired unit the above parts are commonly caused of the problem.

If you confirmed that you have a defective motor then replace it with a new one. Before replacing the new motor you have to check the clearance of the disc holder with the old one. The clearance should be the same as the old because if not the lens will not read the disc if it is too far or too close.

If you already cleaned the lens, and confirmed that the ribbon is good as well as the motor then I've advice you to send it to repair shop because the next step should be done with an expert because it is quite technical diagnosing the fault between the pick-up lens and the main board.

Thanks for using fixya.

Hi, I am trying to get the aux input to work and am wondering which set of rca outputs to use, front, rear, or constant level? I have not been able to find out which one to use from my manual. I have...

There is either a headphone size jack on the back labeled aux or a blue square plug. If it is the headphone jack then you need a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable. But if I remember right you have the blue plug and need to buy the auxillary adapter. Then you need a 3.5mm to rca cable. The outputs are only outputs not inputs. Turning the Aux on in the menu does bring it under Source now.

You lucky lucky person! I am an automotive diagnostic tech, and have delt with this problem literally hundreds of need to remove the head unit and changer from the vehicle this is easier said than done. the front of the dash has to also be removed and those attention-paying-down-to-the-last-detail engeneers and designers were thing job security on this one look in and remove the vent grills for most of the retaining screws holding the front together after its apart and the units are out look on the bottoms and call your local honda dealers sefvice. tell them the number then they will tell you your codes.enjoy you will hate your car after this, caution, your dash will squeek like theres no tomorrow if ALL of the screws are not reinstalled.
