I would try a system restore from a date when you knew you were not having these issues first.
If that doesn't clear it up , i would do a complete recovery. Gererally this is a software issue, driver got loaded wrong, virus, corrupt file in windows.
Keep in mind your computers recovery process. dont buy an operating system if your laptop has the operating system on a disk or partician of the harddrive.
Find all your software first, operating system and drivers disks for everything you've added since you bought the computer, back up any files you want to save. take notes of what youve done.
Hope this helps . If you could post the brand and model of your laptop , i can provide you with specific instructions.
Regards.

I have an Dell inspiron 1525, I recently updated either my windows or my windows secerity program (can't remember) anyways it told me to restat my pc. So I did i'm guessing it was never done down loading...

It sounds like it is confused and has lost some of the registry entries, like we would have an index to find the files. Hopefully they are all still there.
Press F8 as it boots up, this should get you into a sub menu that allows you to use Safe Mode or Recovery. Try safe mode first as Windows will search for the "missing" files and repair the registry. If that doesn't work try Recover and follow the prompts. (That may only work under F11).
Hope that fixes it.

When i try to start my emachines e525 laptop it goes to a windows error recovery screen and gives me the option to launch startup repair...but when that goes to start the screen goes black. I've tried last...

Have you tried reformatting your hard drive and resintalling your operating system. Alot of times with the corrupted files on your hard drive, the system restore will not work. If your recovery partition is not there then your recovery process will not work either. I would definitely try to reformat the hard drive and reinstall windows and restore my files from a backup. have fun!

3 Easy Tactics on How to Fix Blue Screen of Death The famous windows Blue Screen of Death(BSOD Error) can be fixed with 3 types of Blue Screen Death Repair. Try to apply the following tactics when the blue screen death occur before you call a computer expert for help.
1. Uninstall any programs which you had installed recently.
Sometimes, there exists a conflict in drivers installed on your pc that causes the blue screen error to pop up. In most cases, this does not occur, but if it does, Windows offers you a roll back feature where you possibly can bring your PC’s operating system back to its original functioning state.
2. Random Access Memory is faulty.
When the Random Access Memory is faulty, the Computer stops functioning everytime when the RAM is accessed by the CPU. This brings about your PC to halt almost at Random. A simple solution is just to remove 1 stick of RAM and see if the problem goes away. If it does, your PC is fixed!

Computer will not boot up. I have tried to boot up in safe mode, normal, safe mode with prompt command...nothing works, just goes back to the normal start up screen and keeps doing the normal start up over...

It looks like you're encountering an endless reboot? Here's what to do to find the actual error message.

  1. Turn on the computer, and press F8 after the POST screen but before Windows attempts to start to access the advanced startup options.
  2. Select "Disable Automatic Restart On System Failure" and press Enter.
You should now get a blue screen with an error message and error codes. Please write these codes down and report back.

Try tappng the F8 key during start up and select safe mode

Logon and click on the right hand answer to go into system restore
Restore my computer to an earlier time
Select a bold date from the calender on the left, choose a date before the error occurred
Next select a system checkpoint or other point for that date from the right hand side
Click next

Blue screen error

that only happens if your hardrive goes to hell or you have a lot of viruses,if it gets a blue screen while booting, your harddrive may have gone bad, or forgotten what file system it had, then you have to format the drive and reinstall from a cd, and try blowing the dust the cooler on the laptop out also.

Blue Screen

Usually when you get a blue screen an error shows up on the page. This error can assist in solving the problem! The error is something like STOP 0x00000000 You might need to try it one more time to get the stop error! Write down any error messages or filenames of the screen! cause sometimes stop errors are caused by faulty programs! Search support.microsoft.com for the meaning of the stop error or post back information to this post so that i can see what could be the problem! Another question, Do you have sp2 installed? regards, babb
