I have purchased and installed LG RW CED 8120B & ROM CRD 8822B devises in my PC a few years back. Now some how the drivers for the above got corrupted and not working. I have reinstalled the drivers from the original CD copied in to a pendrive and installed the devices through pendrive as the CD ROM devices are not recognised by the system, though they are attached to the system and the system configuration says they are present with an 'exclamation mark' on them. On reinstallation, the system says, they are not compatible with latest Windows XP version, contact the supplier. Can you please suggest a solution at the earliset.

SOURCE: CD Burner stops in middle of burning
Hi KayGo, People hate going over the basics but gotta ask: -Have you tried cleaning your read/write heads using a commercial cleaner? -Do you have any problems reading CDs? -What Brand of CDs are you using? If you're using the cheapies you should try a few quality brands such as HP or Fugi. -Have you checked the drives manufacturers specifications for blank disks? -What recording speed are you using? Try setting it lower and see if that has any effect. -How much reading and writing have you done with this drive? They do wear out and CD only R/W drives have a history of not lasting long. -Have you tried running a diagnostic on your drive? Here is a link to the Sony CD/DVD diagnostic tool. Meant for Sony drives but I have used this successfully on other drives - http://sony.storagesupport.com/cdrw/diagnostics.htm#dwn Let us know if you need any other assistance and don't forget to rate the posting.
SOURCE: LG CD-RW CED-8120B will not read dvds
I have a LG CED 8120B in my computer right now. The reason you cannot read DVD's is because it is a CD player/burner, and not DVD.

this is not a driver issue
