My dell dimension 2400 series computer has lost comms with the local dell AIO A920 printer. Connections seem to be good. It seems a print job has got stuck somewhere. HELP! AJCook

Have you tried purging pending print jobs? Go to Printer and Faxes on XP, then right click on your printer icon then select purge print jobs. Or double-click on the printer icon on your system tray (lower right hand of the screen) then click on the pending print jobs then purge it. Then try to print again.

If you can't purge or cancel a pending print jobs, try to check for any virus on your computer.

Open the printer window from control panel>>printers and faxes>>installed printers and remove all jobs in the printer cue.

If the stuck process does not go from the cue, unplug printer power and if used also USB conn., restart computer, and remove the stuck print job.

If this does not work, unplug printer cable for five minutes, restart computer, and if you still have no luck, reinstall drivers.

    Note, you do not need to uninstall the printer, leave it in there and add a new printer with same characteristics, then delete the old one.

    Ensure that you are logged in with administrator privileges while you perform this operations.

HI,

Please reinstall your printer drivers.This should fix your problem.

Also make sure your cartridge is full.

And also unplug all the cords of your printer for 15 min and then plug it back in.Do this after you reinstall your drivers.

How your printer icon is looking on control panel, if dim, it means it is not detecting , if normal it means detecting then,
go to control panel open printers, then open your printer, cancel all the documents, then send a print command and check

I have a Dell Dim 2400 and no connection with HP Deskjet 3070A.


Charles, has this combination worked previously, have you been able to print from your Dell Dimension 2400 to your HP Deskjet 3070A successfully?

If the answer to the above is Yes, then if you believe that the printer is still working correctly and you can test this with a different computer able to print to it, you should consider uninstalling and re-installing the HP software and device drivers for this printer.

If you have not printed to this printer successfully previously, have you tested the printer with a different computer and proven it is still working fine?

If the printer works fine to a different computer then providing you are using the same USB cable to connect to your Dell 2400, the problem needs to be narrowed down further.

Check that you can plus other USB devices into the port on the Dell used for the HP printer - if these work, then your USB port is good - if not, try another port if you have one.

If your USB hardware is good, then again you are left with the need to uninstall and re-install the HP software and device drivers - it may be worth trying to download the latest version of such software if available. HP tend to update their All-in-One software on a regular basis.

I have a dell printer A920 and an acer computer with windows 7. Having trouble getting the printer to work


First run Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print jobs in the queue.

Disconnect the printer.

Download and run the patch(printer cleanup utility) until it prompts you to restart your computer.

Restart your computer. Make sure the printer is removed. Manual Printer Driver Removal

Download and install the Vista 32-bit drivers for Windows 7 32-bit or the Vista 64-bit drivers for Windows 7 64-bit. Install the Vista drivers in the Vista Compatibility mode You'll get a message, the printer is not connected. Connect the printer at this time(powered on)

Run cleaning utility


  • Clean the Ink Cartridge Nozzles
    • 1 Load printer paper into your Dell A920 Printer.
    • 2 Open the Dell Printer Solution Center on the computer. Click "Start," located in the bottom left corner of your computer. Select "Programs" from the menu displayed. Click "Dell printers." Click "Dell AIO Printer A920" and then click "Dell Printer Solution Center" to open the Dell Printer Solution Center.
    • 3 Click on the "Maintenance" tab and select the option that says, "Clean to fix horizontal streaks."
    • 4 Click "Print." This will print a nozzle print page, which forces ink through all of the nozzles to clean and unclog them.
    • 5 Print a regular document again to see if the print quality has improved. Repeat the cycle up to two more times to improve printing quality.

    I have an older Dell Dimension 2400 series. I have tried running the monitor with it. I will get it up and running only after numerous restarts. Most of the time when I start up my system the monitor...


    If it's an older 2400 series and you suspect it doesn't have a good signal going to it, I would try the monitor on a different tower to see if it's the monitor. If it isn't, I would recommend that you try to disable and change the VGA card in the Dell, if possible to a known good VGA card.

    Also, try wiggling the connections at the monitor and graphics card, if this applies.

    Or else, it might be a lost cause for that tower.

    Good luck on getting the Princeton monitor working with your Dell Dimension 2400 series.

    The green buttton on my Dell 725 printer is flashing and it will not print. I have tried unplugging everything as suggested, but am still having no luck.


    I have this same problem, except with the Dell AIO A920 Printer. It started when I experienced a paper jam and tried canceling the print order in the queue. I've tried every possible way to try and bring the printer out of this comatose state it's in, and nothing doing. I'm about ready to get a new printer. I guess this is what you get with a cheap printer Dell threw in free with a larger order.

    In dell dimension 2400 you have to install printer driver of office jet 4100.

    when you go to print the window that pops up before it comes out will allow you to change the print size and the number of pages it goes on try that one

    it's unusual to have same problem if completely uninstalled printer(removing printer, then uninstalling,after which use printer installation cd then re connect printer when prompted). If you have a spare usb port install software then connect printer to a different usb port. Lastly try; go to printers and faxes folder>right click on printer icon>properties>advanced, then click the radio button 'Print Directly to the Printer' and see if it prints. Also make sure this printer is set to default printer Try an updated driver, if any,from the Lexmark web site, as they are the same printer without the Dell logo. Your rating is appreciated.
