Cannot access PREFERENCE SETUP menu to reset to default settings

Hi,

The rear speakers are not working. I am trying to access the "Preference Setup" menu after pressing the setup button in my remote control, so I can restore the factory settings using the "Default" option.

The problem is that the cursor jumps from the "Video Setup" icon to the "Password Setup" one, skipping the icon for "Preference Setup". Do you know how to make it stop in the latter?

Thanks,
Pablo

Rear speakers do not work , also in set up menu they are grayed out.

hi there

when playing radio, the rear speakers do work because you have configured that. in your dvd player however, you may not have configured it yet.

Correctly insert the jacks at the back of the dvd player and at the same time, check the menu of your dvd player and check the audio settings. Under the audio settings of your dvd player menu, select the 5.1 or 6.1 audio profile.

hope this helps.

Yamada H8000. I cannot get any sound through my Home Theatre system. Can you please help? samrobery@verizon.net

Hi samrobery.
to answer your question;
there are many configurations possible for the audio output on your dvd player and since you mentioned it i think it may be a good idea to go into the menu under "preference page" and reset everything to default.
that would tell you if the problem is with configuration or hardware.
Try it and let me know.

You may have to set a speaker preference for the TV. Look in the Audio section of the Setup menu to see if you can turn off the TV speakers and route the output through the jacks

How were you able to access the Preference Setup menu? AMW T365

You have to change the password mode first. But, you cannot unlock the password mode, if a disc is currently in the player. Eject the disc, set the password off, and then you can go to the preference setup

Problem with original dvd

Before performing any operations, make sure of the following: ? Check the connection with the TV. ? Turn on the TV and select the correct input on the TV to view the pictures or on-screen indications on the TV screen. ? For DVD playback, you can change the Setup menu setting to your preference menu... Alos, make sure thay the system and disc region code numbers are incompatible: The following discs cannot be played back: ? DVD-Audio, DVD-ROM, DVD-RAM, DVD-R, DVD-RW, CD-ROM, CD-I, (CD-I Ready), Photo CD, etc. Playing back these discs will generate noise and damage the speakers. * Note on Region Code DVD players and DVD Video discs have their own Region Code numbers. This system can play back DVD discs recorded with the color system of NTSC and PAL whose Region Code numbers include ?3.?
