Question about Projection Televisions

My Logik L22LID628 tv has an intermitant fault & will sometimes not respond to the remote control, I have tried new batteries, and checked the remote control by tuning an infra red light switch to the remote control power/on button which works fine.

The 1st night I watched the TV all was fine till suddenly the picture went grainy, a pink line ran from the top to the bottom of the screen, and a very loud alarm sounded. The TV didn't respond to the remote control, to switch it off or anything so I had to switch the power off at the mains (plug).

The next day there was no picture at all on the TV, only sound, and it doesn't appear to be responding to the remote control again.

I purchased my Logik TV yesterday. It was working fine until mid evening when it suddenly sounded a very loud alarm, the picture went grainy and a pink line appeared from the top to the bottom of the screen. The TV wouldn't respond to my switching it off via the R/C, so I switched it off at the mains (plug). When I switched it back on again all was well.

Today when I tried to watch tv there was no picture, just sound. Any clues as to what may have happened?

Same problem, tv picture freezes without warning, screen goes grainy without warning and sometimes has a loud audio scretch to accompany the picture problems. The tv also does not respond to the remote nor the standby button on the actual tv meaning it has to be switched off at the mains and turned on again. Sometimes it happens continually maybe 10 times and other times no problem for a number of days, in any case it's only 1 mth old so it's going back tomorrow !!!

We have had two of these tvs break within 2 days of purchase, in our case both times it seems to be a backlight failure. Did you wall mount your tv? If so when you take the base off it leaves a hole in the casing leaving circuitry visible. I think it's very easy to damage the ciruitry.

Remote will not work tv.

A working TV remote is a security blanket that allows us the peace of mind of knowing that we don't have to get up unless nature calls or the house catches on fire. People are more likely to spend more time and energy to fix their TV remote than to get up and change the channel. There are a number of simple fixes that can ease your mind when your TV remote is not working.
jQuery('.intro .thumbnail').each(function(i,e){ jQuery(e).find('img').one('error',function(){ jQuery(e).remove(); }); }); Difficulty: Easy Instructions Things You'll Need:

  • New Batteries
  1. Check the batteries. Make sure the batteries are in correctly and, if they are, replace the batteries. If the batteries are dead or are not in correctly, your remote will not respond and the LED light will not illuminate when a button is pressed. Make sure the TV is plugged in. An unplugged TV will not respond to any remote.
  2. Check the selected input to make sure the remote is set on the TV and not some other device programmed into the remote, such as your DVD player, VCR, or video game console.
  3. Reprogram the sync code. If you are using a universal remote, it may have deprogrammed, leaving the remote and TV out of sync.
  4. Unplug the TV for a few minutes. During a power surge, a TV can become "confused." Unplugging it for a few minutes will give the TV the break it needs to sort everything out and work properly with your remote.
  5. Use another remote on the TV. Program a universal remote to work with the TV. If the TV does not respond, the problem is likely with the TV and not the remote control.

My Mitsubishi projection TV will not produce audio or video

Hi,
Two things are involved to cause that problem, tv remote control and remote sensor in tv.
Upon verification of remote working, it would be confirm that remote sensor in tv is defective and need to be replaced.
Remote control sends infra red light signal to tv and we can not see that light with naked-eye, so need digital camera or cell phone camera to see it by watching remote front through camera, press any keys on remote, if you see infra red light is blinking in remote front that means remote is working and remote sensor in tv will be replaced.
If no light blinking on pressing remote buttons confirm that this remote is defective and buy new remote.
Let me know if you have additional question.
Thanks.

62HM15 Toshiba DLP TV won't respond to remote or control panel

Blinking is a trouble code. Try unpluging for a longer time then hold power button in when pluging back in to try and reset.

Remote control not responding to tv

You need to program the remote to work with the TV. And I hate to point you this way, but I've looked around for the manual on this remote, and can't find it, so, go to the Toshiba website and email Customer service that you have lost your manual for the remote. See if they will email you one. I bet they will.

I've got a samsung le32m8 tv. the remote is not working light flickers on remote and tv but nothing happens. the power button is the only one working

You should try another remote to determine if the remote is actually defective, or there is a fault in the TV set. I have seen both scenarios, of either the TV was defective, or the remote was defective.

I suspect the remote to be defective more than the TV having a problem. The reason is that you can use the remote to turn the power on and off in the first place. This means that in the TV the IR receiver module, and the remote circuit processing to the uPC is responding.

If it is not the remote that is defective and the TV's IR path is responding, there are several other possibilities. There may be lockout function in the user menu that locks out the main controls from the remote. There may be some other type of defect with the uPC system controller. This can be firmware, or some type of hardware failure which would be a bad device in this area on the circuit board.

There are control circuits for the functions in your set. In most TV sets they are shared with the front panel controls. There could be a fault in this area as well.

Anything past trying another remote to verify the remote functionality of the TV, and checking the user menu for a lockout feature, will indicate that there will be the requirement for technical service.

TV does not respond to the remote control

I had this happen on mine after about 3 years. Luckily it was on extended warranty. At first the techs re-soldered the connections to the board for the IR sensor but the problem was still intermittent. The next time they replaced the mainboard and all is well - just like new.
