Question about Epson Stylus 1520 InkJet Color Printer
I just spent a couple of hours and finding a parts schematic to determine how to get the cover off. There are two screws visible inside the printer once the top cover is removed. These need to be removed. Also (and most important, there are two square openings immediately above the control panel in the lip where the top cover rests. Carefully using a screw driver you insert it into the opening to press a tab which will release the top of the control panel, this then tips out and you can remove the ribbon cable attachment. In the area where the control panel sits there is one screw you need to remove. On the bottom of the printer there are two rectangular openings near the front edge of the printer. These contain tabs that you need to release with a screw driver, when the tabs are released the front edge of top cover should come off and the whole cover tips to the back and unhooks from the back of the printer. Of course, remove all paper trays and the rear tractor feed (if you have it). I really hope this helps!
