This fault is typical in most MIG/MAG Units. the feed roller/s need slackening off, pull the trigger so the rollers spin wire the wire not moving, turn the tensioning 1 turn check to see if the wire feeds, if not give a half turn on the tentioner repeat this half turn untill the wire feeds, bend the wire to the torch and pull the trigger, If the wire feeds then thats the correct setting. be awear of all safety rules. use gloves

Hi:

If you see rust on the wire then you should stop and change the gun's liner, change the contact tip and clean the feed rolls. Rust can accumulate inside the gun and make the wire feeding a problem.

I have a millermatic 130 and the wire keeps getting wound up around the wire assembly

First thing to check is that you still have an inlet guide (plastic funnel like) before the drive rolls. This one can be dirty or have enough build up inside that makes the wire feed imposible. Change this one if possible, it will cost you around 5 bucks at your near welding shop. If everything looks ok, then make sure you have the right drive rolls size, 023 or 030 in this case. Then ckeck you liner if it has a kink or dirty in the inside (use compressed air to blow the inside of the gun) then it's useless, change it. Final will be the contact tip just replace it for the right size according to the wire size.

How do i disconnect the main electrical lines from the liftgate? I need to replace the entire gate. I can get everything off, but i dont see any electrical connector. just a bunch of wires??

On the head liner, all the way to the back, remove upper trimming, pull down on head liner, you'll see connection, and also pull the rubber through the frame, to pull harness out.

Wire is catching in liner and bunching up at feed wheel

Cable Liners: A kinked, worn, wrong size or partially plugged liner can easily lead to burnback or arc instability issues. Removable liners can be blown out with compressed air if dirty or replaced if worn or kinked.

Spool wire starts to melt while on the spool

1] Switch off the mains power, remove the torch from the machine, ther should be a button or switch on the unit to feed the wire, push or switch these and observe that the wire feeds and dose not heat up, if ok then you have a short in the torch, a new torch assembly is required,if the wire heats up with the torch removed, the wire spool is shorting out, remove the spool and check wiring in and around the feed motor, if you can't see anything check for a voltage from a good earth and on the rollers, if you have a voltage then the motor is faulty.(earthing out) a P.A.T test should show exactly where this is.

Relay clicks, gas blows, rollers dont turn

If you use it regularly, the liner should be replaced about every 6 months. Make sure you get a wiper for the wire. It goes inside the machine, on the wire, just before the feed rollers. It keeps the dust from clogging the liner.

Dirty weld

clean your metal with a good peace of the green scotch guard scrub pad prior to the weld. Also try turning up your gas and move a little faster when using filler wire, rember to much heat causes a darker dirter weld.hope this helps
