When I power up my Garmin c340, it is locked on the letter "n". If I tap the screen hard sometimes I can punch in an address but can not go to the selected location with accuracy. If it has to be sent for repairs, where do I send it. I paid around $ 400. for it in 2006. I noticed that the c340 is selling for $ 140 online now. Would a re-manufactured c340 be a safe investment considering my c340 bought new, only lasted only 2 years! Thank You

To calibrate your Streetpilot c-Series touch screen, follow these steps:
1. Begin with the unit turned OFF and unplugged from a power source. 2. Power the unit ON, continue to hold the Power button for 1 minute. 3. A screen will display instructing you to Press dot in the lower left corner. 4. Release the Power button and touch the sequence of dots until your unit displays, Calibration complete. 5. Your unit should now function normally.I hope this helps. Please rate my reply. Thank you.
Try resetting the unit. Remove the faceplate (there is an indentation at the top) and press the Reset button on the right side of the unit. If this does not help, there is a Master Reset, but it WILL ERASE ALL OF YOUR FAVORITES. If you have to do this, press and hold the bottom right of the screen and press the power button until the unit resets.
Have you tried a hard reset? Take off the silver trim ring around the screen by hooking a fingernail under it above the screen and lifting it off. There's a reset button at the side of the screen. Press that for a few seconds and it should re-boot the unit.
Remove the face cover (GENTLY pry it loose by the fingernail groove directly under the GARMIN logo), press the RESET button, then re-attach front cover... this is covered in the owners manual, also available online at garmin.com /support /downloads
You need to calibrate the touch screen. With the unit off press and hold the power button until the calibration screen appears (approx 35 seconds). The follow the instruction on touching the dot on the screen. Once this is done your screen should be OK.
