If Windows XP, hold down the ctrl and alt buttons and press the up arrow. For Vista or Windows 7, open the Control Pane and look for the application for graphics and you should find an option to rotate the screen.

How to Rotate My Desktop Display!!! It's on it's side!!!

I have had many requests for this one, Oh no my desktop has been turned on it's side!!!
The desktop is rotated 90 degress either to the left or to the right and can make life rather difficult.

It is in some cases a terrifying sight.
Well we are going to set it back to the default 0 degrees, Landscape view, that we all use and have come to love.

There are to ways of doing this.
This is the first way;
On a normal desktop display, one that is in landscape 0 degree view, you should find an Nvidia green logo, placed at the bottom right hand side of your screen. Located near the Volume silver speaker icon.
Right click the Nvidia logo and navigate to Rotation Settings.
Select ROTATE 0 Degrees.

The other way is to navigate to the control panel and double click Nvidia Control Panel.
On the Left hand side under the Display heading, click Rotate Display.
Ensure to select the NO ROTATION (Landscape) Option.

Happy Computing!
damnor01

Hello there hopefully you are reading this on your laptop, the right way up that is.

What you need to do is to use the NVIDIA control panel to rotate the screen.

See my published guide entitled How to Rotate My Desktop Display!!! It's on it's side!!!

Take care!

My screen is side ways how do i put it back to normal

Do you have a rotating monitor? There are a few that can be rotated 90 degrees in the plane of the screen for a "portrait view" instead of the standard landscape view, and they will automatically swap horizontal and vertical signals as needed. If you have one of these, the position detector switch is stuck in the wrong position. You may be able to get it unstuck by rotating to the other position and back again.

There are some programs (e. g., Acrobat Reader) that let you rotate the view of the file you have open, but that only affects the contents of the window, not everything on the screen. I'm not aware of a program that rotates the full screen view for the entire system.

My screen is upside down and my mouse right and left side are reversed, how can I change it back?

On my shuttle, there is a combination of button to turn the screen 90 degrees to the left or right. Something Like CTRL + ALT + Up Arrow or CTRL + SHIFT + arrow or ALT + SHIFT + Arrow , to rotate to different angle , also there are Viewing options in your display drivers. In the ATI control panel, there is a tab rotation to rotate the desktop 90 degrees to the right or left or 180 °

Try this.

I HAVE A HP G7000 LAPTOP AND THE SCREEN VIEW HAS ROTATED 90 CEGREES ONTO ITS SIDE. HOW DO I RESTORE IT TO ITS ORIGINAL VIEW?

Depends on what video card you have. Most of them:

RIght Click on Blank Desktop area
Choose Properties
Click on the Settings Tab
Click on the Advance Button
Look for a Tab that says "Rotation"
Set it back to 0 degrees or Landscape

Ok, i dont know much about computer, but i found my uncles laptop after he passed away. it says its an acer travelmate 290e series with windows XP home edition. when i plus it in a bunch of lights blink,...

Hi
If it's plugged in a light should come on to show that it's charging. Next you need to press the on button on the laptop and it should then turn on.

If it makes a sound when you turn it on (i.e. starts humming) but the screen stays black then it may be that the screen is switched off.

I think the best thing may be for you to refer to this guide as it will help you get started with the laptop but if you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask!

Hope this is helpful

Hi right hand click in the centre of the screen select graphic properties and once in there make sure that the rotation is on No rotation if not set to and apply close and then the screen should be OK.

Try this hope it works
Thanks J
