Child lock mode has been accidentally put on, i used to be able to remove it by pressing and holding the keylock button but somehow this time round it seems like it needs a 4digit code to 'unlock' the child lock. how can i reset the entire player as i am unable to use the VCR now due to the child lock. your help would be much appreciated, i really need the VCR to record my favourite shows thank you!

Sounds as if the child lock function has been activated, this can be rectified by either a "Lock" button on the remote or press & hold either the Stop or Play button on the VCRs control panel for 5-10 seconds. You did not mention what model you have & there are different ways to over-ride the Child lock depending on the model. Failing this try to refer to your instruction book
I'm sorry to say this but many video heads are more expensive than buying a new machine. But you might get lucky. I did see some parts for sharp at Curry's Partmaster. And you can also try Grandata.
Also try CPC, Willow Vale Electronics.
Hello! Here is the link to our remote codes, if that fails follow these additional steps for the Power Scan this should resolve it as well. http://www.dishnetwork.com/downloads/pdf/user_guides_and_manuals/Remote_Codes_Web_Page.pdf
***BEFORE STARTING THIS USE THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE LINK TO PROGRAM THE REMOTE TO 222
With the desired equipment on, press and hold the correct Mode button until
all mode button backlights illuminate (about 3 seconds), then release.
For AUX mode Power Scan ONLY: press 0 for a TV, press 1 for a VCR/DVD,
press 2 for any other device, then press *.
Press and release the Power button.
Press the Up button once a second while pointing the remote at the desired
equipment. If the code for the equipment comes up, the equipment will power off.
Press the POUND (#) button. If the code entered is valid for the remote, the
mode light flashes three times.
To verify the code works try several different functions
for that equipment.
I wondered if you were able to get a copy of the manual. Does anybody know how to reset the tamper proof button that needs a code. MY child seems to have set this with a code..
Any help would be much appreciated.
