My acer desktop monitor(model V193W A) i have a problem in the right side of the display there is a vertical blue line was came please give me a solution.

It could be a number of issues including a failing or overheating videocard, a damaged monitor or possibly even a video driver issue. The first thing to do is to narrow down the source of this problem. First thing you may try is to restart the computer in safe mode. If the line shows up in safemode it is most likely a fractured control array and your monitor, and it will need to be replaced or repaired.
If it doesn't occur in safemode however, the next step would be to either update the driver for your videocard or if you have recently updated it, you could try rolling the driver back to a previous version. If this doesn't resolve the issue, your videocard may be failing and needs to be replaced.

I hope this helps.

I have no sound coming out of the monitor speakers

  1. Right click my computer, and select manage.

Click on device manager. Can you see any yellow question, or exclamation marks next to your sound devices?

If so, try re-installing your sound drivers.

If you have onboard sound, then you can get the sound drivers from your mobo(motherboard) manufacturers website.

If you have a separate soundcard, then you can get the drivers from the soundcard manufacturers website..

Make sure that your soundcard is properly installed as are it's drivers. Check to see that sound is not muted. This can be done via the speaker icon in the system tray or from sound in control panel.

Monitor goes black after 5 seconds but has power.

Power Supply inside the monitor is bad, needs replaced. Compare cost of replace or repair. Usually best to just go get a new monitor.

Monitor doesn't work

When you got the pc, you should have been given a starter pack with some CD-ROM's in the pack, one of them should be the drives for the monitor, you might need to use anothermonitor to see the instructions, but the basic graphics card should power the monitor enough to set things up, until then you won't be able to adjust the settings.

Screen goes black with white horizontal line.

WHEN does this problem occur? Does it ONLY happen after the computer loads Windows (or another OS), or does it happen as soon as you turn the monitor on? We really need more information before we can provide specific advice or suggestions... IF this happens as soon as you turn the monitor on, switch it with a different monitor. If the problem goes away, the original monitor is defective, and probably not worth the cost of repairing it. If the problem ONLY happens after you load Windows, boot the system into Safe Mode (press the F8 key during bootup until you see the menu which allows you to select Safe Mode), then reboot and see if the problem has been resolved; simply booting into Safe Mode, then rebooting the system into Windows MIGHT solve this WITHOUT requiring you to change any system settings... IF the problem remains in Windows AFTER you've booted into Safe Mode AND rebooted back to Windows, the videocard driver might be corrupted. In that case, you'll have to reinstall the vidcard driver to correct this problem... If all else fails, it IS possible that the videocard itself is defective; if installing an updated driver doesn't work, try swapping the videocard with a different one. BE SURE to uninstall the OLD videodriver, and install the proper one for the new videocard; if you don't install the correct driver, you could create MORE problems than you have right now...
