Problem for Compaq Notebook 100 PC Notebook
My compaq notebook 100 wont come on
When I start the laptop the power and cd light come on but nothing else happens. The hard drive does not spin, the cpu fan does not come on nothing on screen not even bios. When I put the hard drive into another similar laptop it starts up and goes to desktop. Whats up.

Sounds like your motherboard or the memory on the motherboard has gone bad. The motherboard handles the initial start-up of the computer, like testing memory, and making sure all the other components can communicate with each other. Your hard drive, and thus all your data, is fine. If you have other memory around (it will need to be the exact same type thats currently in there), you can swap it out and see if the computer boots with new memory. If not, then the entire motherboard needs to be replaced. You just need to contact your PC manufacturer to get a replacement motherboard.
