Why am i getting no power in x42 turtle beach earphone?

I am assuming this is not a sound issue, and an entire headset not coming on issue. Here are the steps that I would take...
1. Put in BRAND NEW BATTERIES!!! (Usually that is the culprit) ;-)
2. Unplug and then re-plug in all wires and cords to the console and the controller.
3. Check to see if the wires are connected from headset to end cords (on the one that plugs into the controller).
4. Once everything is connected and with brand new batteries, it should work, turn it on again. Remember the beep sound goes up when the turtle beaches come on, and the beep sound goes down when the turtle beaches are turned off.

I bought a soncm headphones sm-750mv but when I try to use the microphone it doesn't work. No manual.

This headset is pure bad. I have three and none of them worked. The manufacturer has no quality control or post production inspection. To fix the mic problem, open the earphone to which the mic is attached. You\'re likely to find that the mic wires are SHORTED together in a single piece of paper tape. Remove the tape, separate the wires and retape, assuming the tiny thin wires don\'t break in whic case you need to resolder the joins. Had the manufacturer any kind of QC, the faults would have been immediately obvious.

New user with Blue Parrot B250XT headset. Using it on Skype and PC with iogear bluetooth dongle, all seems to be properly configured. Tested the audio quality from the microphone and it is garbled. ...

Hi there,
It seems that there is a physical problem with the microphone of that headset, It rarely happens but it does, even brand new units sometimes would have defects.
In windows there is a sound recorder feature that you can use so you can try recording your voice from the headset and check if it will be garbled.
you can also test the device on another equipment, Pair it on a mobile phone that is bluetooth capable and try calling or receive a call and check if the same result would appear.
If the same happens for all these steps, if you have just bought the headset you would want to bring it back and ask for a replacement unit or a refund and get a different model.
Hope this helps!

My recorder isnt working

Good morning, afternoon, evening or night; whatever time of day you are viewing this solution. Thank you for choosing FixYa to solve your problem. The recording feature of your electronic device isn't working properly? You should try turning the volume up on the microphone so it can pick up your voice clearer when talking. If you still can't playback any recordings, check the volume settings of your device on your computer. This is located in the Control Panel (Windows) and the System Preferences (MAC OS) applications of your computer. Go into your operating system's preferences and increase the microphone volume. You may also need to select your headset device as the default recording device (Windows) or the Output Device for recording (MAC OS). If you want my opinion, I think your headset device is not set as the default recording device. If you don't have a headset as the default recording device or output recording device, you can turn the volume up to the maximum setting and you still won't be able to record anything because the computer has another device (if any microphones are installed in the PC) as its default or output recording device. That's why it's important to check your system preferences for a headset to make sure it has the proper settings. I hope you understand this solution and that you can record audio on your headset. My Dynex headset with removable microphone does not work. The earphones are fine, but the microphone does not work.

Usually on default the microphone is not enabled in windows, so you have to do it manually. This is the steps you have to follow.

Control panel
Recording(or microphone heading, it may differ)
Enable microphone

Now it should work if it was not enabled in the first place.
If this does not work try plugging in the combo in the back panel of your case. or visa versa.
I hope this can help you. Please rate this.

Best regards

Bose Aviation headset Series 2 has high-pitched squeal.

Try wearing the headset the "wrong way". The left side of the headset on your right ear & the right side of the headset on your left ear. I have the QC15 with the same problem and it worked for me. Good luck!

Cannot get microphone to work while connected to computer.

I found this on the Turtle Beach website: ________________________________________
Let's make absolutely sure that the microphone in your headset is working correctly. If the mic is working, a replacement talkback cable should fix it. If not, then please send in your name, shipping address, the name of the store where you purchased your X1 and the date (month/day/year) of purchase.
OK, here's how to test the X1 using the Microphone input on your PC:
1) Take the pink plug from the X1 and plug it into the pink jack (Microphone input) on your PC's soundcard.
2) Take the green plug from the X1 and plug it into the green jack (Front L/R Out or Line Out) on your PC's soundcard.
3) Take the USB plug from the X1 and insert it into a USB port on the PC (not a USB hub, please).
4) In the soundcard's control software, enable the Microphone for playback. In the Microphone > Advanced settings, enable the Microphone Boost. Make sure the Microphone is not muted (Mute switch is not enabled).
5) Adjust the volume for the Microphone to about half-way up.
6) Adjust the overall playback volume to about half-way up.
7) Put on the headset. Make sure the Mute switch on the X1 amp box is not set to Mute (the LED should be green).
Now speak into the microphone. Do you hear your voice in the headphones? If so, the mic works and your X1 headphones should be OK. If you still cannot get the X1 mic to work over Xbox Live, then you need to take a closer look at Dashboard settings and other connections, or check the integrity of your X1-Xbox Controller Cable.

In order to enable the chat make sure that the Mute button in the Off position. If it is on the ON position the Mic will not work.
Red = Muted Green = UN-Muted
If you're having trouble adjusting the Mic in Windows:
For Windows XP, there's a nice video on YouTube that takes you through all the steps of setting up your microphone:

Please follow these instructions to configure your microphone within Windows Vista:
1. Left-click on the Start button. The Start Menu will appear.
2. Left-click on Control Panel. The Control Panel will open.
3. Left-click on the Hardware and Sound option. The Hardware and Sound window will open.
4. Left-click on the Sound option. The Sound window will open.
5. Left-click on Recording from the three tabs at the top of the Sound window. While in the Recording tab of the Sound window, you will see all options available for recording - Microphone should be one of them. (If you don’t see an option for Microphone, ensure your microphone is plugged into your computer using the jacks commonly located on either the front or back of the machine.)
6. Left-click on the Microphone option to highlight it. This will enable the Properties button toward the bottom-right of the window. Left-click on the Properties button.
7. You should see the Properties for your recording (input) devices. One of these should be Microphone.
8. Left-click on the Levels tab (or similar). Adjust the Level (Volume) and Mic Boost controls to at least half-way up. If your Mic Boost control is a simple check box, please make sure it is checked (Enabled). You should hear your microphone in your headset or speakers.
Once the levels are adjusted to your satisfaction, left-click OK and OK to save your settings. You can then close the Control Panel.
Your microphone should now be ready!
