Hi, I have a kodak Z1275 digital camera was stopped working when my son dropped. I can only review the pictures from the internal memory. I can on and off and nothing is functional. Even Menu is not...

I would suggest you rescue the memory card, remove batteries and leave overnight.

Try loading things back up and try again.

If you still get no response, I'm afraid there is likely a serious fault internally.
I have taken a few modern cameras apart for repair - but they are VERY difficult to repair without test rigs and a current manual.

What is likely to have happened is that a heavy component has become dislodged from a control board - fracturing the printed circuit tracks. You really need a microscope to even see this - or a test rig.

If it is a new camera - return for repair - which will mean replacing defective boards untill it works.

Sony cybershot pictures fracture when stored on computer

So you mean that when the photos were transferred to the computer, they were fine and now after few months the images on computer are corrupt .. Right?
If that is the matter then I feel that its not a problem with the camera .. It should be some (strange) problem with the storage device on which you copied the photos to.
May I look at a sample image please?

Dropped the camara,it turns on & everything works EXEPT capture button

Unfortunately, as you have found, the cost to repair these cameras is usually not viable, as it is cheaper to replace the camera.

Even if it is repaired, often the impact from being dropped can cause small fractures in boards or loosen the optics and while they may work ok now, can continually develop faults later.

My advice would be to replace the camera, as you will also get a new warranty as well.

If you still need this camera repaired, I can perform the fix. Does it still operate normally otherwise?

Camera dropped all writing on lcd screen is reversed

Wow, this is one that I've never come across before. To fix it you'll have to bite the bullet and using great care and light fingers dismantle the case of the camera. Look for the flat piece of plastic with small lines in it which enters the LCD (this is the wiring) make sure the other end is correctly connected to the board. These flat ribbon cables connect to small blocks of plastic and are retained by either another piece of plastic which you carefully lever off both ends and this leaves the cable easy to remove. Whatever you do don't force that plastic keeper too far or it'll just snap one end. The other way they can be retained is by a small plastic flap which locks over the top of the cable. To release it you'll need a small fine bladed screwdriver or blade. Just slip it under the edge of the flap and pry upwards. When it clicks upright you can just remove the cable. Take a look at the cable and make sure it's not fractured anywhere and then reinsert in it's holder and close the retainer. Just check there aren't two flat ribbon cables connected to the LCD. If there is, check them both. The shock may have knocked one of these cables loose so check them carefully. You may find another one which looks out of center, remove and replace it the same way. It doesn'[t sound as if you've damaged anything too bad as you'd get nothing at all. But it's still a weird fault. I wish I had it on the bench. I'd love to know what caused it. Whatever you do treat everything with kid gloves. The innards are very fragile. And if you can get it all back together without ending up with a spare screw or two you've done very well. BMW
