Question about Canon PowerShot A85 Digital Camera
My LCD screen is cracked. I have a warranty but am told that it doesn't cover "damage caused by the owner". So either I trash my camera or replace the screen myself. I was hoping someone could guide me as to where to purchase an LCD screen and how to replace it. They told me it would cause $25 to send it out and $260 to replace.
Problem is, that nobody that i know of makes a replacement screen for that camera. This means it is an OEM part (original equipment manufacturer) and so Canon is the only place to go for it. If that's the price they charge to fix it, then thats your only option. (as of now, sometimes people start making aftermarket parts for electronics, but digital cameras are usually easier to replace than repair.)
