It sounds like the waste ink pad is saturated or the driver is corrupt. Look on the right side of printer where the cartridges park. See if ink is globbed on the pad below the cartridge. If it is it will have to be cleaned. What happens after the cartridges go through the cleaning process it will print. Then the cartridges park on the waste ink pad and gets plugged up again. If it is not that it could be the drivers are corrupt. Uninstall the drivers and reinstall.
Turn the printer on.
Lift the lid that covers the print-head mechanism.
Wait 15 seconds.
The print-head will slide to an accessible position.
Press down on the ink-cartridge, to "unlock" it from its holder.
Gently slide it out.
Gently slide in the replacement ink-cartridge.
Press up-and-in on the ink-cartridge, to "lock" it into its holder.
Close the lid.
Print a test-page.
Sounds like your black cartridge is empty and the printer is defaulting to your color cartridge. Check ink level in black cartridge by using the troubleshooting instructions that came with your printer. If you don't have a manual on your computer you can try finding the instructions by accessing the manufacturer's website. Good luck!
Is it a new genuine cart? If so, I have had this problem. Run multiple copies of black only text, Run 50 copies, will still spit out blank pages. Then head clean. If no black repeat. I did this for around 200-250 copies then Volia! black. Hope this helps
