Digital channel set-up

Last night as I was playing with the "menu" settings of my television, I came accross a function titled "digital set up." My television was working fine, hooked up to a time warner cable box, when I clicked on the function "digital set up" I suddenly lost the picture. A message appeared stating that "digital channels were not found." The message also stated that if I wanted I can pick the digital channel set up, but it will take up to 50 minutes. Lastly, the the message also stated that if I wanted to return to analog settings to press the "analog/digital" button on my controller. I decided to do so, and then my picture turned to a static picture. Measure taken: I've disconnected the television and cable box from the electrical outlet, nothing occured. At this point I don't know what to do.

Re: digital channel set-up

Unplug the set for 12 to 24 hours. if that does not help, go into channel search but make sure the cable box is plugged in and turned on. If that does not work call out a tech to sort out your problem. Experimenting is fun at times, no insult intended, but its not the best thing to do with a TV set.

Recently(within the past 6 months...) have been having a problem with my L37HDTV10A. The picture always takes a yellow hue. This applies to every input accross the board, and changing hue and color...

A digital TV handles the color in three channels, red green and blue. Your TV has a problem on the red channel. That causes pictures getting yellowish. The computer functions can compensate the fault, but that is not a solution. If the problem happens on every input and also with internal tuner, then the logic circuits that elaborate video signal are defective. The main board is usually replaced to fix the problem. Before replacing the main digital board the technician can check if any repairable fault is found. A contact in one of the input for example may short the circuit affecting one of the color channels. In that case the tech will only need to resolder the connector on board to fix the problem. More commonly the whole board must be replaced.

1. On the remote press "D.MENU" (should be yellow colored writing)
2. The digital TV menu comes up; go down to the section titled "Channel"
3.In this section the top option should be "Auto Store"; press enter on this
4. There should now be an empty progress bar with start highlighted underneath and "Press ENTER to update your list of channels" written at the bottom of the screen - press enter to start updating.
5. When this is complete the review has been re-tuned and the channels updated

No digital picture

Try and reprogram all channels in the tv. Goto menu and use the auto program function to do this and see what happens. If this does not fix it then you will need to send to a repiar shop. The main pcb is most likly bad.

Channel stuck on TV

This may work;

Access the service menu by pressing, in order, whilst the tv is in stand-by mode:

when the tv comes back on you will have a service menu; select option 12 (reset) the tv will then switch off.

this will reset your TV back to factory defaults.

turn tv back on and you should be prompted to go through the plug and play setup again - go through everything and then all should start working OK (it did for me)

Line accross top of the screen with flashing black and white boxes

Thin white dashes on top of screen is PERFECTLY NORMAL. It is nothing wrong with the TV, it is the broadcast. What you are seeing is the very bottom of the timecode running. It doesn't happen all of the time or all channels. It usually happens with old 4:3 commercials predating "Digital TV." This is mentioned in your Users Manual. You should be able to adjust the horizontal/vertical position in the menu settings.
