Re: hard disk failure... unable to start
FIRST PART OF PROBLEM, YES THE DATA MIGHT BE ABLE TO BE RECOVERED, BUT IT WILL TAKE SPECIAL SOFTWARE TO DO IT. YOU NEED TO FIND A REPAIR OUTLET THAT CAN RECOVER DATA ON A DAMAGED DRIVE. THEY CAN HANDLE THINGS LIKE THIS.
THE SECOND PART IS HARD TO READ BUT I WOULD SAY IF YOU ARE MIXING VOLTAGES ETC. YOU PROBABLY HAVE FRIED NUMEROUS THINGS. THIS IS NOT GOOD. FINDING A SECOND HAND BOARD IS VERY CHANCEY! YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GETTING.THE DRIVE IS PROBABLY RUINED ALSO. YOU ARE LOOKING AT A MAJOR REPAIR, REBUILD. YOU NEED TO START TO GET EVERYTHING COMPATIBLE, SAME VOLTAGE ETC. DO NOT PLUG HARD DRIVES IN WITH POWER ON OR UNPLUG THEM WITH POWER ON. THAT WILL DESTROY THEM. THE DATA MIGHT BE RECOVEABLE ON THE ONE DRIVE, BUT IT WILL MIGHT HAVE TO BE SENT TO A SPECIAL LOCATION TO RECOVER THE DATA. THIS IS ALSO USUALLY FAIRLY EXPENSIVE SO BE PREPARED. HOPE THIS HELPS.

if you are unable to start your computer During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS you can load failsafe defaultsor load optimized defaults ,press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart then Test the leads that attach to your ((hard drive from the motherboard)) or replace all the leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions + IDE,SATA and the ones that attach from your ((motherboard to hard drive)) make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they are probably old and faulty a computer needs its connections to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error
try uninstalling a few unnecessary programs then click start run type cmd then type chkdsk/r/f this should schedule to happen on reboot which will scan for and attempt to recover bad sectors and automatically fix any corrupt files on your hard drive or click startcontrol panel administrive tools, computer management ,disk management right click on your drive select properties click tools you should see click check now click start two boxes automatically fix files and scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors place then a tick in both boxes then select check now, start should schedule this task when restart do not do anything while the chkdsk utility is in progress any input will damage your computer then you should test or replace all leads make sure they are securely seated and are not bad/faulty that are attached to your(((motherboard to your hard drive)) defragment your hard drive will speed up your computer scroll to the bottom toolbar (bottom of screen) right click you can select task manager applications also processes you will see whats running on your computer you might have virus slowing your computer also select users you will see who is using your computer don
No need for depression. Go to your Device Manager > Display adapters > double-click on your card [HD2600xt]. Go to the Resources tab and you will see one of the resources marked with red, try to manually change it's corresponding resource type setting until it is safe to use [I presume that you have a resource-conflict issue !?]. Until you do so, your gfx card will not use it's full potential ;)
Roll back the drivers to the original that worked and leave it there. Some times an update acts more like a downdate and screws things up. If your getting blue screens, its a hardware failure and is most likely do to the drivers just not being compatible with your system config.
You could also try updating the BIOS on the mainboard and see if that improves it.
I had alot of issues with ATI's catalyst on my last computer. the program kept causing problems so i removed catalyst and installed just the drivers and it worked great after that.
Hi, has the problem recently started after the installation of sp3 because it has been known to cause problems like your having. If the computer is a new build it could be one of two problem, the asrock motherboard which i personally wont use anymore because of constant failure, or your power supply is not powerful enough. i would recommend nothing less than 500w power supply for gaming pc`s.
