Question about RCA F27628 27" TV

1 Answer

Channel selection woes continue!

Based on the info I received here (I really appreciate the quick response!) I tried to access "Channel Scan" or anything like it on the MENU, but was unsuccessful. The remote is actually for the DirectTV Receiver, but is programmed to work for the tv as well. Channel 3 is only channel on tv that comes on and it will not allow a change. The Manual channel buttons DO work and the channel number appears on the screen, but the channel will not change. I have also tried to do this manually by accessing the MENU from the front of the tv. What to do now?

Re: Channel selection woes continue!

Sorry but your going to need to get an original remote from a friend or relitive to program this set. They sell rca universal remotes for 10 to 15 bucks that will work for you too.

You need to give more info. Try putting you tv set to channel 3 or 4. Try your tv in all modes. Check the back also to see if in the right spots with the wires. Check your channel scan status, try it on anntena and try it on cable, run channel scan on both. good luck. Try vcr wires if cable wires dont work. vcr wires are yellow red and white. Try another cable cord sometimes they get old. Try looking at your remote and setting it to tv.

I cannot scan the channel. No channel. What is the option? Can i reset?

Depending on Brand and Model number most "standard Televisions" do not have a reset feature.

I will indicate some common issues you may or may not have explored:

Tuner in set is bad= route signal via cables to audio and video jacks on the set if it has them----this bypasses the tuner. Go to the input selected with the menu or remote and select it.

Hook a DVD etc to one of the unused inputs on back (if it has them) and see if picture and sound that way.

Lastly but least likely to help direct access a channel with the remote like 03 enter.

I have an RCA F27442 TV without G-link cables and need to select cable tv channel input. The setup routine will not allow selecting cable channel input unless I first set up G-link. Is there any other way...

Yes, enter the menu. Look for signal source (ant/cable) select cable. Then run channel scan. This is an older TV and will require some time for the system to scan the cable channels and adjust. The process could take up to 20 min. Do not disrupt. Wait fo unit the TV is completed the process. If you have the operations manuel, the step by step for this process is posted.

Please note this TV is only capable of process NTSC TV signals. If the cable company you are using is supply Digital or Quam or ATSC type signals then the TV just won't work.

G-link can be turned off through the menu. You should see that selection in the first or second page of the set up menu. G-link is for TV guide and record setup for VCR operation. The TV guide should also be set to off or "no" in the same setup menu. You MUST got through the complete setup menu in order for the TV Guide not to try to operate each time you turn on the TV.

I have a SV2000 TV and DVD combo no remote and need to get on channel 3 for the cable to work. ITs on channel 2 then goes to channel 7 and up .Ineed to get it set on Channel 3 and no setting button on tv...

Try going to a store like Walmart and buying just a universal remote and try different remote codes listen in the instruction manual until you can access the menu and do a channel scan. That's really the only solution I can think of.

Manual needed for Sanyo CP29ST3 - I need to tune in TV channels! I lost the manual!

Sanyo has two parts distributors in the U.S. Both are listed below. You'll need to contact the one closest to you and inquire about purchasing a replacement manual. In the meantime, if you're just trying to program the channels into your TV, you need to bring up the TV's menu and select the screen that has the channel or setup options. All TV menus follow the same general format: you should see icons or words going across the top of the screen or down the left side indicating the different menus that are available. On some older TVs you have to press the menu button more than once to cycle through the different menus. Each menu has different options such as picture options (brightness, color, tint, etc) audio options, setup options, and channel options. Use the arrow keys on the TV remote to manipulate what you see once the menu is on the screen. Once you find the channel options, you need to perform what's called a channel scan. On the screen it may say auto scan, auto program, or channel scan. Once you start the scan, you're done. The TV will scan for all available channels and the menu will disappear once it's finshed.

I hope I've provided you useful assistance and that this information allows you to make an informed decision as to how to proceed from here. Please be sure to vote on my response. I hope I've earned a good rating from you today.

Please post a comment if you need additional assistance so that I can help you further.

I can't scan for digital channels

This is a standard NTSC set that can only receive cable channels up to 113. Since you don't specify what digital channels you are trying to receive, I'm not sure I have completely answered your question. If not, please provide more info about what channels you are trying to get and I'll try to respond.

Mitsubishi CS-31505 TV - UN-memorize QV (Quick View) Channel?

I've learned from a Mitsu tech that there is indeed NO easy (nor logical & user-friendly) way to UN-memorize a QV channel.

However there IS a work-around to accomplish that so that the QV will revert back to its Factory Setting of "Last Channel Recall."

Using the Mitsu remote control:

1. Poke the Menu button.
2. On the Menu, select the "Add/Delete Channels."
3. Select the Antenna (A or B or whichever) and select the channel which was memorized in QV.
4. When that memorized channel number appears, select "Delete."
5. Poke the Menu button again to exit.

The QV memorized channel number is now gone, restoring the QV function to "Last Channel Recall."

NOTE: If that particular deleted memorized channel was also included among the SQV (Super Quick View) channels, it can then be added back into SQV using the Menu and SQV option.

Hope the above helps those who have encountered the same issue.

Turn tv on and get no program or weak signal message.

You should be watching tv in no time. Email me and let me know how it went I would like to know if I was able to help.

1-You didn't say what model tv you have. Is it a HDTV?
2-Are you using an over the air (roof) or set top antenna connected to the tv?
3-Are you getting the no program or weak signal message on all channels?
4-Have you tried first cycling through the source or input button to make sure you are on TV and not on an input. Sometimes if you are on an input and for example the device connected to that input is off you wil get a no signal until you turn the device first but you probably already know that.
5-When you were in the process of scanning for channels assuming you had an over the air antenna connected did you make sure and select the ota option and not cable? if you have an ota antenna and not cable you need to select ota before scanning for channels.

Now assuming you have an ota antenna and you chose ota before scanning or doing a re scan and after the scan you still get the no program or weak signal message that means there is no signal and you may be using the wrong antenna or try moving the antenna in the direction of the television tower if you know where that is or turn in another direction but unless you are using the wrong antena you should get something.

Assuming you received some channels or even if you did not, try to and add channels by hand. Heres how: first you need to know the RF frequency channel or digital channel its transmitting on you just cant input the number of the display channel you want like on a tube at least not initially but you can after you first input the rf or digital channel number first and saving it on your tv then you can just input the display channel number you are used to. Heres how to manually force the tv to enter a channel without a scan or re scan and possibly loosing other channels with a rescan.

Go here and go to state search choose your state from drop down list and click search now do you see the list of stations? on the left you have the display channel (thats the number you usually entered on a regular tv) and next to that is the digital channel (thats the number you need to enter on an hdtv or dtv initially to force the tv to accept the channel because if you just enter the number your used to initially the tv wont find it) the tv should now automatically redirect you to the channel you are normally used to and any digital equivalent and any sub channels for that channel. Now save it into memory in your tv menu channel list. do this for every channel for your area if you were unable to pick up any stations during a scan.
