I am trying to highlight more than one item in a list, and used ctrl to do so as used to do, but it will only highlight one item, when I click again to highlight another item, it removes the first highlight.

and as you can see I have two problems with this. One problem is that
when i am in an internet browser and i hit shift it acts as
Backspace/Back and when i am renaming a folder and i hit shift to use
caps it also acts as Back. The other problem is similar with the Caps
Lock key, whenever i am in an internet browser and i hit Capslock, the
Search window appears and the Capslock function gets activated as well.
I was trying to Remap these two keys but i wasn't successful in doing so,
for the shift key i tried remaping 00_6A and E0_6A to another key and i
also tried remapping 00_36 to another key and neither of these two
and for Caps lock i tried remapping E0_65 to another key and it didn't
work. I also tried turning off both the shif key and the CapsLook key
and their that only turned off their original function but it didn't
turn off the backspace or the search functions.
Unfortunately, by design this model indicates the status of "caps lock" and "num lock" on the computer screen. I do not see a work-around for your problem. A huge majority of keyboards have a "caps lock" indicator on board. Perhaps you need one of these?
most keyboards have an indicator light at the top or side of the keyboard to highlight when the cplock is on . on vista and some of the other op systems when the caplock is on they will warn you before you type in passwords or key info. try this out see if it works. hope this helps good luck and thanks...
Does it happen with everything you type or just in particular programs? If it happens in Microsoft word 2003 highlight the area where the all caps is happening then go to Format, Font. Under the Font tab there is a section called Effects, in this section there is an All caps option, uncheck it.
If it types all caps everywhere there could be a short in your keyboard. You can solve this by taking your keyboard apart using a multimeter to find the short and reconnecting with solder or electrical tape. Getting a new keyboard or talking to tech support can also help.
