No button or any control to rectifier this problem. Depend the movies quality when you fast forward the system control and audio video processing or it call out MPEG2 chipset they run like double speed sometimes it not fast enough then you end up with sound and video not SYNC however you can fix that by remove AC lead for 30sec then plug in back now it should work OK or when you fast forward use X8 or X16 NOT X32 times specialy with DVD copy
Alternatifly if your DVD player still under warranty it might have a update firmware to correct this problem
Cheers

Video Playback in fast mode (canon ixus 80)

Oh my, sounds like you accidentally recorded in "Time Lapse" mode (one of the specialized video features of your camera). Unfortunately, there's no way to convert the already taken video back to "Standard" video with sound, I'm sorry. However, you'll obviously need to set your camera back to standard mode for future videos. Press the "Function" button while in video mode. Then press left/right to select "Standard" video.

Playback for movies on digital camera plats way too fast

I had the same problem. You have the recording setting on time lapse and there is no sound.
Set the recording on to standard by turning the round wheel at the back of your camera. I did not read the manual until I had this problem and I ended up making useless fast videos with no sound. Hope I am right?

I have a canon SD 580. When I playback the video clip it's always in fast forward mode and I can't play it normal speed. Any help?

Make sure you are shooting your movies in "Standard" mode. If you have the mode set to something else, especially "Time Lapse", the playback may not match 'natural' motion.

In any case, you can control the speed of the playback. When you first enter the movie playback mode, there should be a movie control bar along the bottom of the LCD. Instead of the "Play" button, select the "Slow Motion Playback" button (single arrow with single bar next to the normal Play button), and control the speed with the left or right arrows on the multi-controller.

Movie playback speed

Odds are it is the media player. Most often with digital video, frames will drop but the software will make sure the audio isn't lost. There is a lot mmore data transfer with video than audio. The dropped frames will result in a "jerky" video playback. We humans can compensate for lost frames - in fact a lot of video on the web used to play at maximum 15 frames per second. But we don't like it when the sound is lost. What would it sound like if we only heard half the audio? We would shut it down fast. The computer has to deal with software talking to hardware. The hardware has to re-draw every frame for you on your monitor, but it has to wait for the data to be sent and the software has to deal with that. And this will be more evident the older your computer is. Hope this helps.
