Jvc subwoofer will not power up

Hello all, I have a JVC SP-PWA380 Subwoffer that was DOA. Upon viewing the main board I see that Resistors R41,R40,R42 and R36 are burned beyond recignition. Would anyone know the values of these resistors and or know where I could find a service manual or at least a parts list? Any help would be greatly appriciated. Thank You. Rich..

Thanks all I am a tv repairman also since 1995. I am not too familiar amplifiers but know how they work. I usually check a burned resistor anyway but usually get an open or aronious reading. Don't think I spelled that right but you get the idea. I have searched the Internet for a schematic or parts list or service manual for this unit but have had no luck. I did notice however that the two transistors used for amplification were shorted. It looks to me that whoever had this unit terribly overdrove it. I do believe I could bring it back to life if I could just find some lit on it. thanks again and hope this helps explain better.

Good news, I can order the main board from JVC for $45.00. See as how there is no known lit on this unit, it would take the guess work out. Think this would the best way to go. Thanks again for all your help. tech2353...

I have the same subwoofer, and it has blown C29, causing a load hum that makes it useless.
Maybe someone can tell me the value for this capacitor?? Can't find a service manual for it.

This is not a response to your inquirey but i'll say this if the parts you are looking at are so bad then remove them individually and take them to a electronics center and have them tested.from what i know about this stuff the board may be shot. usually cheaper to replace the board than parts. test the speaker on home amp, or car amp, as deemed appropriate to see if it is good then it becomes a problem of input. good luck

Without getting the color bands of the Resistors it is very difficult to find the value.
As you mention the board is very badly burned out, there could be many out componants having issue. My opinion is to contact the service center.

Hi I have JVC car audio and now there is problem in the car audio.please suggest me where can i show it or send it for repare. my email is # manishchahal@gmail.com

Hello manishchahal,

Your best option is to use JVC's online factory service locater. Click on the "Service Locator" link at the left and then put your JVC model number and location in the form. If you want to remove the receiver and send it for repair, you should contact whichever of the Factory Service Centers is closest to your location. Contact the JVC factory service center toll-free at (800) 252-5722 for specific packing and shipping instructions.

Hope this helps.

Remote wire location

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

On the JVC, the blue wire is intended for a motorized or power antenna and therefore would only work when the JVC KDG-821 is set to tuner (AM or FM) mode. The external amplifier trigger from the JVC unit is blue/white. This should connect to the trigger / remote terminal of the amplifier.

Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

How to connect a amp to a jvc kd-g331 head unit

The JVC-G331 should have an auxilary output on the Back (red & White) run two Stereo RCA cables from this output to the input on the amplifier, then you're ready to go! ;)

Oh yeah, make sure and run the RCA's on the opposite side of the car as the power wire (most likely 4ga) or else you could hear interference.
