Question about Fuji FinePix S5000 Digital Camera
I mistakenly formatted all my pictures on my FujiFinepix camera - can someone advise if these photos can be recovered?
there is a open source software named "test disk" you can download it from www.cgsecurity.org and use photorec to recover your files (you must have a card reader). I hope this helps...

Try to use the recovery softwares, the most I use are these, they are paid but are very very Efficient.
1) Active Undelete
2) Diskeeper Undelete
If you want some free ones, google it, you will find many but with not a good success rate.
And make one thing clear, as many times as you will use (Insert, Plugin, Plugout, Read, Write...) the Card, the efficiency Rate will be down and down for getting the healthy files.
If I was helpful, kindly do Rate!

i know this is late, but my camera had the same problem.
1. If you go in the setup menu.
2. Push the right button once and scroll down to the menu that says format.
3. It will ask you if you want to erase all data.
4. Select No and everything should be fine.

dont worry, you are able to recover lost files from formatted smartmedia memory card. You may take a look at this memory card recovery guide that helped me before:

hope this helps you get back your files.

First of all, you should stop saving any new files to your canon camera (or SD card) or taking new pictures with you camera.
Then find some photo recovery software from this site Best Computer Software, which is of high quality and easy-to-use.
Here are the steps:
Step 1: Download and install the Digital Photo Recovery Software.
Step 2: Connect your camera (or SD card, memory card etc) to your PC or Mac.
Step 3: Scan the source drive where your lost pictures located.
Step 4: Recover the lost pictures and save them to another drive instead of the source drive.
