Question about U-Line Icemaker

1 Answer

Lack of water in tray.

U-line ice maker becomes extremely  noisy when the water level in the pump tray is low.  Is there away to increase the water flow.  The inlet filter has been cleaned and the water pressure seems ok, not checked with pressure gauge.
Noise seems to be from pump, and goes away when we add water manually.
Help.

Check and make sure that as it makes ice that no water is spilling over or out of the freeze tray. only a set amount of water comes in to refill resevoir. if you lose water during the freeze cycle the water level gets below the blades of the pump and it will sound like the pump is tearing up.

It’s on the back where the water supply comes in. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.

The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze blocking the fill tube.. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.
