Re: How can I transfer data from DVD to comp

Hello!! (at first, sorry for my english, i speak spanish) Well dear friend, maybe you forgot to do an important step. When you finish your video recording, you have to search in the MENU for "FINALIZE" and click it in your cam's LCD. It's the step for burn your dvd so then you'll be able to see it in your PC and any dvd player. So remember: Menu-Finalize- (it will ask "are you sure")you say YES- then wait for it to burn without moving your cam! and that's it. If that's not your problem try to buy and cable for that cam to transfer the video directly from your cam to the computer. Good Luck!

I can play the DVD in the camcorder but when i connect it thru USB to a win 7 laptop, it shows as if the data in DVD is empty.

You need to Finalize recorded dvd within camcorder then connect it to computer via usb cable to transfer movie files.
Computer will see these files after dvd finalization.

Hello! I'm using a softwer : movie shaker 3.1. for Sony Handycam DCR-IP5E Micro MV Digital Camcorder and it is unable to scan longer clips then 2-3minutes,that is the maximum... Has anyboy idea for this...

You need to use DV Port in camcorder to transfer movie files into computer that must has same DV Port.
USB port can not be used to transfer movie files as its just to provide still picture data.
DV Port is maybe labeled as iLink in your camcorder so hook camcorder with computer with DV cable.
Hope this info will help you.

How to transfer video from my sony handy cam CCD-TRV418E to Comp

You can use a card reader to transfer your file from your handycam to your computer. Remove the memory card in your camera and insert it to the card reader and insert it to your computer to transfer your recorded video.

I am having a sony hi 8 ccd trv 58 model handycam. i want a driver to transfer my videos to my personal computer. any free drivers available?

CCD-TRV58 is analog camcorder and can not be connected with computer directly as camcorder does not have USB or iLink/ DV ports.
Computer needs digital format movie data to store / edit files.
You need to hook camcorder audio-video out to DVD recorder and burn DVD of camcorder movie so you will get digital format of movie. Put that DVD in computer and copy files for further process.

I have a Sony Video8 Handycam CCD TRV211.

If you are asking about CCD-TRV211 camcorder?
CCD-TRV211 is analog Video-8 camcorder so its movie data is not digital and can not be connected directly with computer via USB port.
Best and easiest was is to connect camera with DVD Recorder and burn DVD, this will convert analog movie file into digital data and you can copy it to hard disk of computer.

Hi8 Video to DVD

CCD-TRV37 is analog video camcorder and can not be hooked directly with computer because camcorder video-audio out is analog and computer needs digital format.

You can hook camcorder with DVD Recorder and burn a DVD. Now you have data in digital format and can transfer in your computer.

Filming transfer

Several steps are involved. You will need a firewire or USB cord to connect your camera to your computer. You will need a video capture application on your PC. Macs come with this program, I-Movie. Once captured, the movies can be edited. Your PC will need a combination drive to burn a DVD from the captured material. An easier way: Take your camera output and feed it directly into a DVD recorder. No editing, but it is a one-step process. I use both methods.
