Cannot get my USB wireless-G adapter to work

My computer crashed and I need to reinstall some of my programs. I cannot get my wireless-g to be recognized.

When I put the Linksys CD into the computer it prompts me to connect to the enternet. DUH! How can I until I can get the adapter to work? My linksys router is already working on 3 other computers, so a signal is going out. It is not practical for me to move my computer to the router for a hard connection. How do I get the computer to recognize my adapter and its signal?

hi mark, if the wieless G is already installed don install the linksys cd,  in ur working computer go to the lynksis page and set the wireless to manual and to channel 9 then in the non working computer  open the wireless g utility and look for options such as let this tool mange wireless if ticked uncheck it, or let windows manage wireless check the option close that box then start-control panel-network connection-wireless network connection-right click on it -view avail wireless networks and slect ur network and click to connect enter the wireless key and u will be connected to internet

Windows Vista crashes when I connect my Linksys wusb54g wireless adapter. It worked fine for about 3 months, then started crashing, now I can't have it connected, or it crashes instantly.

This is a software conflict of the linksys device to your system, so to correct this remove first the software from your computer and then after that restart the computer and then connect the adapter on different usb port , if still having the same problem i will suggest that you have the device replace.....

Wireless driver uninstalls itself after restarts

if it's a usb-dongle, the driver's will be reinstalled every time you reconnect the device. the drivers are on your computer, but have to reconnect with the network adapter when it's reconnected. if the problem is the same after a reboot without disconnecting the network adapter, then there is either a problem with the usb-device, or a driver management problem in windows.
if the usb-device works without problem on another computer, the you need to reinstall windows.
