Hi!
try this trick if it works on your printer:

1st: press the switch button (dont remove your finger) and pull out the power cord of the printer
2nd: put back the power cord of the printer; then you can see the green light blink and remove your finger on the power button
3rd: you may switch the printer on.

i hope this trick works on your iP1500, though it didn't clean you waster absorber but it will make your printer work again.

You get this message when the waste ink absorber is filled with ink. You need to clean this out.

1. To remove the pads:
Open the cover and power on he printer. The print head will now move to the left side. Once they reach the left side, disconnect the power. You should now be able to reach the pads, and can gently lift them out with a pair of tweezers.

2. Cleaning the pads:
Place the pads under running water and squeeze out the ink. Once dry, let it dry out completely before replacing them in the printer.

3. Resetting the waste ink counter:
1. Unplug power and USB.
2. Open door and hold power button.
3. Connect power.
4. Close door, then release power button.

Everything should be back to normal :)

DO THE FOLLOWING:

STEP 1:
- Disconnect printer from AC power

STEP 2:
- Press and HOLD the POWER button, and
connect printer to AC power

If that does not work you will need to clean the absorber.
To clean the absorber start the printer with the cover open until the head moves to the left side, then disconnect power cable so that the heads move away from the pads.
Lift up the two pads and rinse them under the tap, until they get white again. Then dry them before putting them back in the tank.

    Hello schrimper ,

Please click Here and follow this instructions, you will then be ale to reset your printer to normal plus you will have the ink tank empty (that way, if in the future the error happends again you will have a fresh empty tank to absorb the ink, and not a desk to absorb the ink)

    Good luck,
    Dahaka

the sponge which collects the extra ink from the cartridges gets full and then there is no capacity to absorb the extra ink it shows waste ink absorber full.
and the printer needs to be opened and the sponges needs to be changed.
    thanks.

    STEP 1:
    - Disconnect printer from AC power

    STEP 2:
    - Press and HOLD the POWER button, and
    connect printer to AC power

Cleaning the absorber was also easy. Power up with the cover open until the head moves to the left side then disconnect the power cord so the head is now positioned away from the pads.
The two pads can be lifted up easily with a pair of sharp tweezers then rinsed in running water. They will become white again and can be blotted with paper napkins then air dried in a warm location ( use an industrial oven set to 40°C). The wells in the rubber holder can be cleaned with cotton swabs before returning the two pads (left side first, then press down the right side).

A waste ink absorber is a pad that soaks up waste ink.

An absorber can only hold a certain amount of ink, too much ink leads to spillage and it shows waste ink absorber full.

Those two are error codes, and they mean the following:

Printing can be done until the waste ink absorber becomes full. If the waste ink absorber becomes full, please contact your local Service Center for replacement of the absorber and machine maintenance.

E27 - Manual does not specify what this means, but tells you what you should do: Turn the machine off, and remove the power plug from the outlet. About ten minutes later, plug it in again, and turn the machine on. If the problem is not resolved, the machine may require servicing. Please contact your local Service Center.

"ink absorber is almost full, contact service center" - what does this mean?

Inkjet printer has waste ink absorber inside, sponge alike. The function of waste ink absorber is to localize and keep waste ink safe inside the printer and does not harm the electrical parts.
Waste ink is produced from print head cleaning process and borderless printing. When capacity of the ink absorber raise to about 90% then warning message appears.
You need to bring your printer to the nearest service center to get waste ink absorber replaced.

Its appear " The ink absorber is full. Contact the service center."

Inkjet printers have a fibrous pad inside them that collects the waste ink from cleaning the print head. Over time, this pad fills up with ink and can no longer hold any more. When this occurs, the printer indicates a "waste ink full" error.

Replacing the waste ink absorption pads is something an authorized canon service facility can take care of for you.

Printer says ''waste Ink absorber is full'' see service center

This is what the manual says: Ink used for cleaning is absorbed in a waste ink absorber placed in the machine. Press [OK] to cancel the error so that you can continue printing. Once the waste ink absorber becomes completely full, printing cannot be done until the waste ink absorber is replaced.
Canon recommends to contact a Canon service representative as soon as possible.
