Hi there, the memory slot is under the main case. lift the computer up from the front and you will see a panel on the left with two small screws. undo these two screws and you will see the memory card. they have also two small screws that must be removed to be able too remove the card.

Please advise how to install additional memory into a Toshiba Tecra A3. Is it something a layman can do or must it be taken to a computer store. Many thanks

Generally it is very simple. You need to find where the upgradable memory slot (s) are. This is generally under a panel on the base of the laptop. Unscrew the panel and, all being it's the correct panel, you will see the memory. There is normally a clip on either side, push these back and slide memory out. Replace with a bigger memory. There may even be an empty memory slot.

Only two things to watch out for, one is that your computer can take the memory upgrade (check Toshiba website) and secondly that you buy the correct memory (pins have to be in same place).

Well within the grasp of anyone that can use a screwdriver.

Feedback is always appreciated.

Where and how do i replace my ram on toshiba tecra

Hello.Shut down the laptop. Remove the rams.Put the new one. It depends on how many slots you have. If you have one memory slot just put it there. The original 256 can stay there.

Toshiba Tecra 510CDT Laptop

hi,
this is mainly dependant, on what input/outputs the laptop has at the rear. If it has a printer port, or USBs. you need to be able to physically connect, laptop to printer, as i,d imagine it has no bluetooth or infra-red et,c.

Thankyou for using fixya.

I have a Toshiba Tecra M2 Laptop. I just installed (2) 1gb ram chips. Bios only shows 1.256 Windows only shows 1.256 Where or how do I access or show 2gb RAM>

This could be bad memory or possibly (but unlikely) a bad memory controller. To test this remove one stick and power it on and look at the size, than switch the pieces of memory and check that one. If they both show 1gb then try each stick in the other slot. If they both do not show 1 gb then there is the problem.

Is there more than one memory slot on a toshiba 4080 xcdt?

check your manual on the maximum amount of memory your motherboard can handle. 192mb is rather very small. check online for your computers specs.

Hi,
Memory slots are getting loose. Try to keep pressure on the memory door. Also, might try new memory.
Good luck

Memory Install

You can usually find manuals for gaining access to the Ram slots, but I have opened up a Tecra before. Though not exactly the same model. you have to remove the plastic strip along the top of the keyboard (under the screen). Most of these pop up with SLIGHT pressure from a screwdriver but be careful, it may have one or more screws in the bottom of the laptop. Turn it over and look for any deep holes that might have screws that screw into the plastic strip on the top. Once you have the strip off, you can usually see easily how to remove the keyboard.
