Question about NEC PC Desktops

1 Answer

Hi there, having a bit of troublr connecting to the internet on my laptop (NEC Versa) and have found in the past that the "network switch" on the keyboard to occasionaly fix the problem. Currently it will only control the bluetooth connection. So I was wondering if there is any solution as to how to control the wireless connection seeing as they use the same button. PS: (I have tried double tapping, holding down etc) Thanks For Your Help

Have you installed anything recently?? Any changes made in Laptop?

Which operating system running? Have you contact to your Internet Service Provider?

Check out the device manager entries if not showing any mark and also for the unplug and replug, rebooting PC and router..

Let me know in bit more detail and about the connection of Wireless adapter and PC wireless card.

If you are not able to let me know the detail, please check for the Wireless Router/modem and get it repaired, since your bluetooth connection is working.
There may be some sort of software problem, if it is from starting. Otherwise the Router gone bad.
Let me know in either case, so I can assist you further.

Hi there, On your laptop that can get on the internet, go to www.dell.com/support and download drivers for your Network Card and your Video Card from that site. Make sure you put in the right model number (dimension 2400). Transfer them to a USB key, and move the USB key to your desktop. Install those drivers and everything work will again. You may need to install additional ones as you see other things not working (like audio). If you need more help, let me know. -Alex

Wireless stoped workn

Typically there is a tiny switch or button which lets you turn off the wireless capability manually - for "protection" in certain circumstances. You probably accidentally flipped this switch, pressed the button, etc. These are HARD to find but if you look carefully around the edges, and study the buttons you never use and don't know what they do, you'll find it.

Hi there,

This normally means that you wireless network has found a network to connect to but it cannot assign anetwork adress because the network you have connect to is security enabled. U need to find our the password or get the network administrator to give you asscess to that particular network. Or you look at another network to connect to.

Can't enable LAN or Wireless Ntwk Connections

Hello,
I believe that all you really had to do was just unplug the router for a few seconds then reboot it and try again to connect to it. I've a few routers that for no apparent reason just go off-line wirelessly and that would fix it. You also could just check it's settings to verify it is configured correctly before rebooting it.

Formatting your hard drive was a bit in the wrong direction and a needless process.

Good Luck

Try the settings for wireless stuff; they include on and off, especially if the drivers for that network card are loaded.

Turning on wireless

best bet is to search the NEC website for the manual for your pc/laptop,
the switch could be around the edge of the laptop, some are so small you really need to look hard

good luck
