SOURCE: Battery Cover Broken

You will need to replace the battery cover assembly and contact Kodak at 1-800-431-7278 during normal business hours (Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. EST), and select option 3.

My camera doesnt' work indoors. i try to take a picture and it doesnt' take when I'm in AUTO mode. However, when I'm in LANDSCAPE mode the pic will take. it seems like the flash isn't active in AUTO...

You must have a software glitch because the flash is supposed to be in the auto mode when the selector is in auto, unless you manually turn the flash off and the flash should go back to auto every time the camera is turned off and back on. Here's a work around. Turn the dial to indoor and use the flash button on the ring to set the flash to auto. In the indoor setting you can set the flash to on, off, or auto.

Lens problem, turn camera back off then on message

That usually occurs after the camera has been dropped or dirt is stuck inside the moving parts. I have had this on two cameras; one was filled with dirt, and eventually started working again. If you can try to clean it while it is fully extended and retracted you may be able to get away with a simple fix. Cleaning it in one position may be impossible.

My other camera was dropped into dirt (with a lot of force...fell on it). After trying to clean it with the above method I was able to get it to finally work. The clicking you hear is the zoom mechanism binding on 'something', which is either dirt or a bent or broken part inside. After a few seconds it will shut off to prevent causing further damage.

I dropped my Nikon Coolpix S600 camera on the floor at a concert and now when I turn it on, it says LENSE ERROR and shuts off right away.. and the lens doesnt come out. It just makes a weird noise! Is it...

there are some fine gears that move the lens in/out ... if it dropped on the extended lens then its likely a gear was broken or knocked out of place .. it is likely repairable but its really tricky working on these things .. there are fine wires and delecate stuff inside.. sometimes a particle will get into the gears and keep them from operating .. if thats the case you can try gently moving the lens around to try to free it .. but unless you can find someone familiar with working on this then i think you need a new camera with a strap ..

My camera won't turn on

Well theres yoiur answer. If you have banged it or dropped it you have possibly cracked the motherboard inside. Sometimes these work intermittently with rthis type of misuse. other timjes it just stops. Cheaper to buy a new one than muck around getting it fixed

Flash Will Not Fire

Try a mode other than auto, and turn off the flash. Then try taking a picture. Did it work? If so, then your flash is either shorted or burned out, or the flash safety circuit thinks that the camera is open. If the flash is burned out, then professional repair is required, as a flash change-out is not trivial (Call 1-800-OK-CANON).

However, it's more likely to be only a break in the safety circuit. Many Canon cameras use some of the screws in the camera case to serve as a means of detecting if the case is open (and thus disables the flash to prevent shock). Examine all the screws around the perimeter of your case. Are they all there and tight? If not, tighten loose screws and try moving and replacing any missing screws with one of the others that are still there.

Lens is stuck and wont move. on the screen it states "Turn the power off and on again" help pls?

try this link...if removing the batteries as directed dosen't work, you may have to reset the camera by taking out the battery and holding the power button for 30 secs, replace battery and restart....if that doesnt work, you will have to send to sony for service....good luck

Lens stuck, green Power light flashes, nothing happens.

get a butter knife or any thin object like that and use it to push out the lens and turning it on at the same time  you will hear a clicking noise which is normal  once completely out, use your hand with a gentle but firm presure move it form left to right
and then hopefully it should work after that

Just a weird noise

Hey jenihen,
Cameras are definitely not supposed to have loose parts inside them. If the camera is working properly you could ignore the sound and wait until what is loose ends up causing a problem, or you could have it looked at by an authorized service technician and they should be able to tell you what is loose and what it would cost to get it repaired. This is a very nice camera and if it was mine I would worry that whatever is loose could cause more damage to the camera by ignoring the problem. I hope this helps!

Go Ahead. Use Us.

Flash doesnt work

There is a small battery (or large capacitor) inside your camera that stores a charge for when the flash fires. If you dropped your camera and hit the right spot, this battery may have been bumped out of position. A solution would be to open up your camera to see, but this is obviously risky and can void a warranty if you still have one. If you do choose to look inside, be sure to not tear any gentle wiring as this can ruin your camera for good (I know because it's happened to me).

Panasonic lumix lens go crazy...

Read my latest comment, it might be a fluke, but it's worth a try to unscrew it because it's not worth sending it back, and the only other thing you could do is sell it on ebay or craiglist for parts. Good Luck! MINE WORKS :)
