Question about Lexmark X1290 All-In-One InkJet Printer
I have an Acer Aspire 3100 laptop with Vista that came with a Lexmark 1290 printer. I have it connected to my USB port, it is powered on and I just installed the latest driver. I also installed the CD software that came with the printer. I can send documents to the printer but they are printing blank pages. I have removed the tape off the ink cartridges. I can scan with no problems. Why is it printing blank pages?

Attention Windows Vista Users
If you have installed your printer on your PC using an original Lexmark Driver CD that came with your product and you are experiencing problems when printing, you may have installed the Windows XP driver.
Follow these steps to resolve:
· 1) Disconnect your USB cable from your printer.
· 2) Uninstall all Lexmark printer drivers on your PC.
· 3) Download the correct Vista driver for your model.
· 4) While leaving the USB unconnected, Install the driver on your PC.
Important - Do not reconnect the USB cable until the install software prompts the question of how the printer is connected.

Try to reset by remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and connect the Printer to be detected and installed. Check printer properties to see the ink levels.
Use head cleaning before a test is taken . It is possible that the head is not reacting to the need of the command , can be an issue with ink drying , can also be poor ink cartridge contacts or a faulty printing head.
