Re: Have R52764 the try will not open or close
The latch is probably broken, you will need to take it apart and see if it can even be fixed. If you can not fix it yourself, you will be better served to just get a new one considering the cost of a new one versus the repair cost. Most shops will not fix anything for less than about $60. There are some very small phillips screws on the bottom that need to come out to open the unit up and check the latch.
Let me know if you can get to it and what you find, then we can go from there.

One of your elite experts allowed as how I would need to disassemble the unit to find the problem. How many college high brow units did he take to arrive at that great advice. I didn't have much hope of finding the problem with that kind of advice so I solved the problem by buying a new unit. Pf-f-f-f-t to you all
Have it checked by a technician, common f15 errors are caused by the cd players lid not being closed, you need to see if the protruding plastics inside your cd player pushes the closed lid detection properly. If not, it needs some manual disassembly...
on my Rio the contacts that tell it if its open or close are at the hinge side, 2 metal ribbons that come down from the cover side and touch other metal parts below them on the base side.
I'm not sure if this is the same on your model but check it, if not, then on yours it might detect open/close on the latch mechanism, so check to see if the latch action is normal, or if it feels ****, sticky etc.
either way - locate the open/close sensors, and make sure they look allright, not bent, broken or dirty, and see what you can do about it.
have a nice day!
