Hi

Turn off the player for five minutes and then try it. If its not work means.

Open the player check the gears and belts.

Thank you

The latch is probably broken, you will need to take it apart and see if it can even be fixed. If you can not fix it yourself, you will be better served to just get a new one considering the cost of a new one versus the repair cost. Most shops will not fix anything for less than about $60. There are some very small phillips screws on the bottom that need to come out to open the unit up and check the latch.

Let me know if you can get to it and what you find, then we can go from there.

Could you please double check the model number you have listed. The RCA website for service centers doesn't recognize the model you gave R52764 as a valid model number. It is very important to have the correct model number to be able to properly help you.

Is this a boombox type of cd player or as you stated a personal cd player which is like a discman and can clip onto your belt, it is important to know just what type of unit you have.

sorry about the initial solution which as not enough descriptive. try not opening problem is a general problem for all players and so your model number and make are not so important to be known.

how to do a hard reset?
try to leave the unit unplugged for one night and then try using it

    next what?
your problem may be due to 2 or 3 component failures in the unit.
either the gear arrangement is damages or misaligned.
else the stepper motor opening the drive is not functioning.
else some other component of the drive system has failed due to wear and tear.

if the problem is other than these three reasons then its due to some component failure in the circuit board. and only service center people can help you.

One of your elite experts allowed as how I would need to disassemble the unit to find the problem. How many college high brow units did he take to arrive at that great advice. I didn't have much hope of finding the problem with that kind of advice so I solved the problem by buying a new unit. Pf-f-f-f-t to you all

CD will not play

Have it checked by a technician, common f15 errors are caused by the cd players lid not being closed, you need to see if the protruding plastics inside your cd player pushes the closed lid detection properly. If not, it needs some manual disassembly...

The laser is damaged/worn out. It would be cheaper to purchase a whole new unit, instead of repairing that one.

Hi! on my Rio the contacts that tell it if its open or close are at the hinge side, 2 metal ribbons that come down from the cover side and touch other metal parts below them on the base side. I'm not sure if this is the same on your model but check it, if not, then on yours it might detect open/close on the latch mechanism, so check to see if the latch action is normal, or if it feels ****, sticky etc. either way - locate the open/close sensors, and make sure they look allright, not bent, broken or dirty, and see what you can do about it. have a nice day!
